We are pregnant with our first baby and find out the gender tomorrow. We have Evelyn for a girl, and Jude for a boy. What are your opinions on Jude?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
LorelaiRoryEmily · 11/05/2019 20:46

Love it!

flamed12 · 11/05/2019 20:48

Love it.

If I could name my son without any input from their dad then he would be Jude. OH hated it however.

SoftBlocks · 11/05/2019 20:50

I like it.

PaquitaVariation · 11/05/2019 20:54

Love it. I know a teenage one and he’s amazing.

TrashPanda · 11/05/2019 20:59

Love it, I would have been Jude if I'd been a boy and it's now DS1’s middle name. There’s a Jude at nursery too, he’s 4.

I do also know a woman called Jude, I assume short for Judith, she's 50ish.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 11/05/2019 21:00

Its gorgeous. However I'd be prepared for the Oh after the song, comments/questions.

Glittertrauma · 11/05/2019 21:04

Really like it. It's my nephew's name and he's lovely. He gets called Jude The Dude in our family!

NotSmellbowButSmellToe · 11/05/2019 22:28

Know a few (primary school age). Fairly common here. To me it's a "I'm cool and original" name. Not a fan.

CherryPavlova · 11/05/2019 22:30

Is nobody going to say it’s a bit obscure?

jigsawmaniac · 11/05/2019 22:31

I really like it. The only one I have met is someone at work, probably in his 30's.

MrsFezziwig · 11/05/2019 22:42

jp237 Hey Jude came out fifty years ago - although I think it’s a classic I can’t imagine it’s a song that is going to be well known to children born today.

Jude is lovely. Cool but not crazy, and nice and simple and solid.

00Sassy · 11/05/2019 22:49

Oh it’s a gorgeous name! I have 3 ds and wanted it for each of them but their dad really hates the name and says it sounds ‘girly’ so I never got a Jude Sad
Great name, go for it!

Antonin · 11/05/2019 22:49

A really great and for boy

Sophronia · 11/05/2019 23:25

I think it will date.

Whoops75 · 11/05/2019 23:33

I don’t like it at all.

Antonin · 11/05/2019 23:53

Most names date and is just about impossible to choose one that will be immune to the vagaries of fashion

hewontstopshitting · 11/05/2019 23:54

My DS1 is called Jude, so naturally I love it

Bumblebeesmum · 12/05/2019 00:37

I quite like it

AlexaShutUp · 12/05/2019 00:51

I don't mind the name, but for me, it will always have associations with Jude the Obscure, so I'd never use it.

LoafofSellotape · 12/05/2019 00:55

It sounds dated to me,lots around 18 years ago when ds was little where we lived.

MercyBodle · 13/05/2019 07:23

I'm not a fan.

RubertRoo · 13/05/2019 07:30

Beautiful name. Really gaining popularity now - in my area there have been at least 10 people I know named their baby this in the last 18 months. or it might just be my area its popular. I love it though

Yogagirl123 · 13/05/2019 07:33

I know a few Jude’s, it’s seems quite popular now.
