Bit too Crazeeee for me.

Is it a boy or girl?

WeepingWillowWeepingWino · 03/04/2019 22:25

Is this meant to a Sadie wrongly spelt and pronounced weirdly? It’s a no for me.

Letthemysterybe · 03/04/2019 22:26

I think it’s cute, but you’d need to be be pretty cool to really pull it off. And if you were that cool you wouldn’t be asking for opinions on mumsnet.

DobbysLeftSock · 03/04/2019 22:26

Not keen. I think it will get misheard as Sadie.

Bumblebeesmum · 03/04/2019 22:27

Hate it and no

HeyCarrieAnneWhatsYourGame · 03/04/2019 22:30

Sadie is nice. Zadie like Zadie Smith is actually a Sadie, I believe. Zaidee would just have a lifetime of spelling her name out.

Auntieaunt · 03/04/2019 22:30

As cool as the kid called Sharlotte. She kept on saying Sh-arlotte when I was writing her name down.. it wasn't helping even when she said it's with an S 'scharlotte'? Nope Sharlotte. There was a lot of raised eyebrows when she left and her mother was exactly how we imagined.

DrBuckles · 03/04/2019 22:31

I don’t think it needs the i in it

jiggsymalone · 03/04/2019 22:32

Makes me think of the writer Zadie Smith. I think it's a lovely name but I'd be more inclined to spell it Zadie rather than Zaidee.

DrBuckles · 03/04/2019 22:33

Or the ee. I think Zadie works better as has the authors name as a reference in some people’s minds (or Pandora Sykes’ daughter)

Lifesagreatbalancingact · 03/04/2019 22:34

Okay that’s definitely a no! Thanks for the input. Was a name way back in the family so wondering what people thought of it today. For a girl, pronounced Zay-dee with emphasis on the first syllable.

ZebraKid71 · 03/04/2019 22:37

It's fine if you spell it Zadie.

SlimGin · 03/04/2019 22:39

Agree Zadie is a nicer spelling, but if it's a family name maybe that's not an option for you. I don't think you need to worry about Zadie/Sadie. There are lots of Sara and Zara's out there I'm sure people can work out a 'Z' sound from an 'S'

mathsquestions · 03/04/2019 22:42

I think it means grandad in some languages

KenDoddsDadsDog · 03/04/2019 22:44

I knew one years ago at work. Only one I’ve ever met.

LucyFox · 03/04/2019 22:47

I like it but would spell it Zadie or even Zaidi/Zaidie but the ee looks weird

MumUnderTheMoon · 03/04/2019 22:54

I think it's a lovely name.

Lifesagreatbalancingact · 03/04/2019 22:58

Thanks for the more positive responses. Maybe it’s destined to be a middle name to follow something more recognisable!

It’s awful.

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 03/04/2019 23:05

So what? This is the reality for lots of us non Britain’s, with traditional names, living in Britain. It’s not the end of the world and, in my experience, most people are interested and happy to learn. It’ a lovely name and if it’s an historical name and spelling, go for it! Smile

CheerioHunter · 03/04/2019 23:06

🤪

SwedishEdith · 03/04/2019 23:09

Isn't it Theresa May's mother's name? I don't think I like the sound of it.

BikeRunSki · 04/04/2019 07:52

I like it. I went to school with one (of the spelling given), she was French.

WarmthAndDepth · 04/04/2019 07:55

Sadie is lovely.

pelirocco123 · 04/04/2019 07:58

I quite like it , and as a rule I hate the off the wall names. I prefer it to Sadie tbh
