Hi Everyone
Twin boys due in the next two weeks. First twin and middle names are sorted - (middle being welsh and after my grandfathers).

First twin is named -
Thomas Rhidian (pronounced rid-ee-an)

Which do you prefer to go with......
A) Toby Gwyn (pronounced Gwin)
B) William Gwyn

William is another family name so all four names would have a lot of meaning - I really like the name but it doesn’t seem to roll off the tongue

For Toby We like the T & T combo as well as Tobes as a cute nickname

Definitely William, it's a classic name like Thomas. I just think of Toby as a dog's name.

motherofdxughters · 26/03/2019 02:58

I agree ^

Toby is a dogs name. William is classic.

Walnutwhipster · 26/03/2019 03:00

I'd go William. I prefer the name Toby on its own but not alongside Thomas.

brizzlemint · 26/03/2019 03:00

William

RainbowMum11 · 26/03/2019 03:02

Def William too.

PatricksRum · 26/03/2019 03:03

I think Toby Gwyn flows a lot better than William Gwyn

Joeybee · 26/03/2019 03:03

William. Only for the fact that I am not a fan of twins with the same first initial. William goes really well, i think you should totally go with that.

lavalamp08 · 26/03/2019 03:17

I have a Toby, he's 5 and we call him Tobes - I've never thought it as a dogs name. Plus I don't know one other Toby in his school or from any groups etc

Netflixaddiction · 26/03/2019 04:41

William

Whoops75 · 26/03/2019 04:49

Prefer William nn Billy

Neighbors dog is Toby

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 26/03/2019 05:40

Prefer Toby but don’t like Tom and Toby so William .

But not Billy. Dislike Billy.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 26/03/2019 05:44

As the trend for dogs names is to have human names don’t think it matters if people know dogs called Toby. All the dogs I know are called Max, Charlie, Archie, Milly, Lily, Poppy, Molly, Stan, etc etc. I know two dogs called William. Yes really.

So dogs called a certain name? Doesn’t matter.

Calixtine · 26/03/2019 06:05

William is a lovely classic.

Toby is a bit cutesy and I don’t like matching initials for twins. You might end up with Tommy and Toby, which would be both very confusing and very twee.

rosyedith · 26/03/2019 06:09

Toby!!!

BendydickCuminsnatch · 26/03/2019 06:14

Prefer the combo Toby Gwyn, but prefer the name William and dislike matching initials.

ButterflyOfFreedom · 26/03/2019 06:17

William

Peachbubble · 26/03/2019 06:17

William

AndItStillSaidFourOfTwo · 26/03/2019 06:41

William.

Thomas and Toby is too Thomas the Tank Engine. Not keen on Toby either. Tobias is nice and goes with Thomas.

Rhidian is lovely!

HappyDinosaur · 26/03/2019 07:04

I prefer Toby, I've never met a William who wasn't spoilt, but that is completely a personal opinion and not meant to offend anyone.

MercyBodle · 26/03/2019 08:03

I dislike twin names starting with the same letter so definitely William Gwyn - which is a great name btw. I do like Toby Gwyn but not with twin brother Thomas. And if you put Thomas and Toby together it's not only the 2 'T's that annoy me but you would have the serious kid - Thomas - and the clowny little kid 'Toby'. You have to have 2 equal but different names, and Thomas and William achieve that.

Lobsterquadrille2 · 26/03/2019 08:15

William. I prefer it as a name but also don't think the matching initials is a great idea. He can be Will rather than Billy.

00100001 · 26/03/2019 08:23

Another vote for William

Thomas and William are both good names, with equal enough "room" for personalisation.

SallyWD · 26/03/2019 09:20

Love William and it goes very nicely with Thomas

17caterpillars1mouse · 26/03/2019 10:17

William definitely. Toby is too informal next to Thomas

Unless you go with Tobias nn Toby. Then I choose that one

NC4Now · 26/03/2019 10:24

I’ve never met a William that wasn’t spoilt.

You’ve never met mine then. Or my dad, or my grandad....
