What do you think of Archie? We're having our second boy. Our first is called Zac, really struggling to find something we love this time!

I love the names Zac and Archie! they go so well together too! Maybe you would like Alfie? x

whitetoblerone · 24/03/2019 16:26

Love it 🙂

CavaIsLife · 24/03/2019 16:31

Sounds like a dog's name. But then I know one lovely dog and one awful child called Archie, so I'm slightly bias

BlueMerchant · 24/03/2019 16:33

I like it!

PCohle · 24/03/2019 17:01

I also think it sounds like a dog's name to be honest.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 24/03/2019 17:02

I like it.

ElizabethMainwaring · 24/03/2019 17:09

I used to like it a lot, but not now. I think it's had its day. Most Archies now are about 11 to14. No, I wouldn't.

ElizabethMainwaring · 24/03/2019 17:10

I know that you are not really allowed to say this on here, but it's a NBN.

brizzlemint · 24/03/2019 17:12

I know a lovely Archie (not mine so I'm not biased)

Zebedee88 · 24/03/2019 17:14

It's a lovely name, I wouldn't personally use it, but I know 3 Archie's. One would be at 15 now, one is 11 years , and the other is 7...so not an old name I think.

bridgetosomewhere · 24/03/2019 17:16

Love it. I have a 9yo Archie and never regretting his name one bit.
It's fairly unusual here and was when we chose it.

Goes nicely with zac too!

mcjx · 24/03/2019 17:18

My dog is Archie and I only know one other child called Archie also.

I'm not keen on it for a child but I think that's just because my dog is named that..

Charley50 · 24/03/2019 17:24

Love it! And Zac!

RoseMartha · 24/03/2019 17:38

Ok but a bit overused at the moment.

woodcutbirds · 24/03/2019 17:45

What's an NBN?

I love it. And I don't agree it's a fashionable name that has had its day. Its a classic that dropped out of use and then returned.

Sophronia · 24/03/2019 18:04

It’s ok, but I think it will date, along with Alfie, Albie etc.

PCohle · 24/03/2019 18:18

NBN = Naughty boy name, I think?

Which isn't my perception of the name at all, I think it comes off quite middle class (for a Labrador Grin).

Shadow1234 · 24/03/2019 18:48

I really like it, along with similar names like Alfie and Ronnie. Wouldn't bother me if it was popular or people thought it was a bit dated. If you love it, go for it!

sonlypuppyfat · 24/03/2019 18:52

Very dated, quite a twee name too

sunflower332 · 24/03/2019 19:03

Really awful, sorry. Too twee and hate Archibald!!

Happyandglorious · 24/03/2019 19:05

I think its great. Only Archie I know is lovely.

fiddlesticks86 · 24/03/2019 20:37

Lovely 💙

lanesra2 · 24/03/2019 20:39

I love it. If we were expecting a boy not a girl - that was my name of choice.

DramaAlpaca · 24/03/2019 20:55

It's awful, sorry.

Sera22 · 25/03/2019 14:45

My husband was determined that if we had a boy, they'd be called Archibald officially but generally referred to as Archie.
I really struggle with Archibald, but Archie feels quite fun - gives me half east end gangster vibes, half 1920s aristocrat vibes.
Turns out we're having a girl anyway, so the great Archie debate has trailed off for now.
(If we eventually had two boys at some point, his idea was that the other would be called Algernon/Algie, which feels like taking the same theme and dialling it up to 11!)
