I love the name Romy
I also like Romany and Romilly and guess they would be shortened to Romy
Me and DH have a double barrelled last name and both 8/9 letters long so want to keep the first name short and sweet and not have a middle name
What do you all think?
I don't want to tell people the name as it is very different and I have never met anybody with any of these names and worry that they are too unique, I wouldn't want my daughter being teased if it sounds silly, am I over thinking this?

When I say I don't want to tell anybody I mean before she arrives as alot of people have opinions and whatever name we chose someone would have a comment to make or dislike it

I don't love them tbh.

Romy makes me think of Romy and Michelle's high school reunion.

I like Romilly best from you options.

How about Ramona? Or maybe that's too similar to Remoaner!

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 23/03/2019 22:07

I love Romy short for Romilly.

lelrx · 23/03/2019 22:10

Any other suggestions? I really would like something short, sweet and unique
I'm having trouble and really fear we won't ever find the name we're desperately searching for

Love Romilly. Other suggestion Lydia.

DramaAlpaca · 23/03/2019 22:23

I love Romy, but I'd have it short for Rosemary.

However, with a long double barrelled surname I think just Romy would be perfect.

Twelve8Ts · 23/03/2019 22:27

I like Romy and Roma.

IVflytrap · 23/03/2019 22:31

Romy on its own is fine.

lelrx · 23/03/2019 22:33

Roma was actually our first choice but I felt Romy was slightly softer, I do really love Romy! I thought there would be alot of negative responses tbh but I think I'm just over thinking it, thank you everybody x

It's lovely! I have a friend called Romilly too.

Nocturnalpearl · 23/03/2019 22:38

I love Romy and Romilly!

Tillygetsit · 23/03/2019 23:29

I love Romy and Romilly. With a long surname Romy is great.

AdaColeman · 23/03/2019 23:34

I like Romilly best, it's very pretty, and gives more options for names as she grows up.

Shadow1234 · 24/03/2019 00:47

Love Romy and Romilly. My daughter has a friend called Romy (age 23).

Bumblebeesmum · 24/03/2019 00:52

It immediately makes me think of Roma / Romani gypsies - wouldn’t stop me using it but not sure if it’s an association your going for style wise

I like the look & sound of them though & cant see why they’d get teased. My favourite is probably Romilly

lelrx · 24/03/2019 11:11

Beautiful! I think Romy is our winner, I was so worried there would be lots of negativity, I didn't want to go too unusual but there is no other names we feel this way about so thank you for helping us with our decision!

SweetbutaPsycho · 24/03/2019 11:44

I like Romy as a first name. It's cool and unusual without being strange

Happyandglorious · 25/03/2019 10:52

I like Romy or Romilly.

Icklepup · 25/03/2019 13:05

Romy!!

QueenOfCatan · 25/03/2019 14:00

I knew a child Rosemary who had her name shortened to Romy, always loved that.

WeepingWillowWeepingWino · 25/03/2019 14:01

I like both Romy and Romilly and I think you can go with either.

Shookethtothecore · 25/03/2019 14:02

I love it it’s beautiful. I liked romilly but it’s a village a lot of my friends live in and would deffo be seen as weird. Lovely name for you to use tho

MikeUniformMike · 25/03/2019 17:19

Just use Romy. Romany seems downmarket and Romilly will get called Rom.

LegoPiecesEverywhere · 03/04/2019 18:48

Romilly
Or
Ottilie
Thalia
Verity
Anoushka

IHeartKingThistle · 03/04/2019 19:06

Romy is nice. I think it would be a bad idea to use Romany tbh
