Eleanor or Georgia?

Hi everyone,

Just wanted some opinions on these names. 30 weeks now and we still are not 100% on a name for our little girl! We want something strong/not particularly fussed about it sounding conventionally pretty.

All honest opinions welcome.

Georgia

My daughter is Georgia so 100 percent biased to that name 😂 I like Eleanor but I always thought it sounded old fashioned. I know one that goes by Elle as a nickname though which is quite nice?

I have a Georgia so I am biased!
Eleanor is lovely too 😃

Eleanor, prefer Georgina to Georgia

Oh Georgia, Georgia, GEORGIA!! Sorry I just simply adore Georgia. It is classic, timeless, beautiful and can fit any age. Also Eleanor is so popular atm and as someone said will get shortened to Ellie but Georgia can be just Georgia or shortened if she wishes. One of my favourite names and deffo will be the name of my next daughter! good luck! x

I really do not consider Georgia as classic and timeless. Quite the opposite, in fact.

Eleanor. You could spell it the older way, Elinor, which is lovely and a bit different.

Eleanor is dour.
Georgia is beautiful and very classy.

I have a 12 year old Eleanor. Not many in her school. She actually prefers Elle or Ella but loves that she has a formal name and one her friends and family use. I loved Nell for a short version of Eleanor too but that didn't happen!

Choose this name because it was so strong sounding but beautiful too. Picked a softer middle name.

I find Georgia is a bit choppy to say and I dislike the George/Gorge shortening. Eleanor's shotened versions are far prettier.

Each to their own. I think Eleanor is classy and Georgia is a bit dated and common.

This is hard because I do love both names. Does one of them sound better with the surname? Otherwise I'd just wait till baby is born and see if you feel one is the right name for her.
