Eleanor or Georgia?

Hi everyone,

Just wanted some opinions on these names. 30 weeks now and we still are not 100% on a name for our little girl! We want something strong/not particularly fussed about it sounding conventionally pretty.

All honest opinions welcome.

Eleanor is one of my favourite names. Not so keen on Georgia (it's still perfectly acceptable though) like Georgina more.

mintich · 23/03/2019 18:13

Georgia (I prefer Georgina) although only marginally, both Eleanor and Georgina were on my baby name list!

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 23/03/2019 18:30

Georgia. There are a lot of Eleanor's around.

DramaAlpaca · 23/03/2019 18:52

Eleanor, it's very elegant & beautiful with a long history.

Georgina is a classier version of Georgia.

parttimeateverything · 23/03/2019 19:24

Eleanor it's beautiful

EmmaC78 · 23/03/2019 19:38

I like both but slightly refer Eleanor.

GlitterPixie · 23/03/2019 19:41

Georgia

Normandy144 · 23/03/2019 19:53

Georgia is gorgeous, really nice. Eleanor is fine, a classic name, but i don't like it as much. Not keen on Ellie as a nickname and don't like how sometimes it can be pronounced El-an-oor as opposed to El-en-ah

MeMeMeYou · 23/03/2019 19:58

Much prefer Eleanor. I think it’s classier and less over-popular. There seem to be loads of teens called Georgia in particular

MeMeMeYou · 23/03/2019 19:59

I liked Ellen and Elin when preg too

deadsexy · 23/03/2019 20:01

I adore the name Eleanor!!

whathaveiforgottentoday · 23/03/2019 20:09

Eleanor. Lots of choice for short versions although my Eleanor has stayed Eleanor.

Lobsterquadrille2 · 23/03/2019 20:12

Georgia. Not that keen on the abbreviations for Eleanor.

MouseBatMummy · 23/03/2019 20:52

Eleanor gets my vote

queenqueenqueen · 23/03/2019 20:54

Wow so much hate for Georgia 😲😲

RedLipClassic · 23/03/2019 21:53

I think Eleanor is beautiful

EngagedAgain · 23/03/2019 22:13

They are both as equally nice in my opinion.

Nocturnalpearl · 23/03/2019 22:47

Eleanor is my daughters name so that would be my favourite. To avoid the common nn, you could use Nell

Tillygetsit · 23/03/2019 23:28

Georgia. Eleanor is so clunky.

Sophronia · 23/03/2019 23:29

Definitely Eleanor! Georgia is dated. I do like Georgina though.

dartitus · 23/03/2019 23:44

my Name is georgía so it sounds like George-ee-a NOT Georgina. Spelt the same but I like that it’s a little different

Bumblebeesmum · 24/03/2019 00:20

Eleanor is beautiful & classy - Georgia feels more trendy to me

Rachelhaydenberk1 · 24/03/2019 00:36

I love both!! I'd say do Georgia Eleanor but I'm not sure that they go together. I love Georgia Jane or Georgia Jade.

I like Eleanor better as a middle name. I think Elenora is prettier for a first name.

Rachelhaydenberk1 · 24/03/2019 00:38

Not a huge fan of Georgina, it sounds overly pretentious to me. Georgia is very classy on it's own.

Froglette16 · 24/03/2019 00:41

Both lovely names but I’d go for Georgia.
