Tell me what are the popular boys names in nursery and reception class atm? Is there a few of the same you notice?

Want to avoid a popular name for our little boy ❤️

Caoin?!

AfterSchoolWorry · 26/01/2019 21:30

Caoin, Irish name, spelt Kian maybe in English.

Peepingsnowdrops · 26/01/2019 21:34

Danny / Daniel is the most popular (I've child in reception and another in creche)

Lots of Luke's and Finn's

Peepingsnowdrops · 26/01/2019 21:35

Yes Adam is very popular too

grinchypants · 26/01/2019 21:35

I'm not a teacher but I have one in nursery and one in reception.

Loads of George's, Oliver's & Oscars.

Also duplicate Alfie's in both classes, and ralphie.

ChesterCake · 26/01/2019 21:36

Henry, Charlie and Leo at our nursery.

Surprised at some of the names on here! We have 75 children a day and don’t have any children 0-5 with most of these names.

SpeedyBojangles · 26/01/2019 21:37

Theo
Rory
Noah

mikado1 · 26/01/2019 21:39

Cian is the Irish name! Caoin sounds like a shirt version of caoineadh which means crying! Never saw it as a name, but it's the duplicate I'm surprised at!

GrumpyGoose · 26/01/2019 21:44

I think it varies by area a great deal. We were strongly advised not to call our son Arlo because there would be so many and I'm still yet to meet another in person 🤷🏻‍♀️

SnowBambino · 26/01/2019 21:46

I know five boys called Dylan who are all between 7-12 months, and a couple who are older.
Also, I have come across loads of babies called Teddy. Some are Edward and some Theodore, but the other day there were three in a class of 15 babies!
Alex and William always very popular. Bertie has been a surprisingly popular name amongst people I have met on mat leave. Several Finns too.

brownmoose · 26/01/2019 21:53

4 Max's
2 Jacksons
2 Louis
3 Beau's

ZebraKid71 · 26/01/2019 21:56

Teddy, Freddie, Theo are the duplicates in dds toddler room at nursery. The number of Teddys and Freddies we know in general under the age of 3 is crazy!

Jorgezaunders · 26/01/2019 21:59

2x Tristan
Multiple Hassans
A pair of Muhammads

Jorgezaunders · 26/01/2019 21:59

We are a mixed demographic!

SunsetOverEasterIsland · 26/01/2019 22:04

Lucas, Noah, Oliver, Troy, Charlie

Ploppymoodypants · 26/01/2019 22:04

Alfie
Archie
Freddie
(And loads of what I call little old man names)

Oscar (I know 5x )
Noah
Harry
George

There are also a few named Thomas but this doesn’t date as badly as there are Thomas’s of all ages (like Alice or Anna for a girl)

cookielove · 26/01/2019 22:15

I work in a nursery, there are two Joseph's and two Dylan's in my room. In the nursery as a whole there are 4 William's, 2 Emma's, 2 Oliver's, 2 Zoe's that's all i can remember off the top of my head.

Other popular names we have had are Amelia, George, Harry, Joshua, Benjamin, Anna.

mikado1 · 26/01/2019 22:16

I was at a music group with my ds1, say 6 years ago, where we all sang hello to each baby and we had Kayden, Jayden and Aidan in a row!

Mumoftwoyoungkids · 26/01/2019 22:21

Ds is Year 1 and there are more than one

Oliver
Matthew
Oscar
William
Thomas

spidermantimetravel · 26/01/2019 22:34

Charlie
Albert
Theo
Finn

spidermantimetravel · 26/01/2019 22:34

And alfred

Ploppymoodypants · 26/01/2019 22:44

Oh yep Theo and Ethan’s too !

babybean19 · 26/01/2019 23:13

Thank you so much everyone 😊 me and my husband like really opposite names...but the ones we agreed we both like but I don't love are
Jesse
Archie
Oscar

My husband loves Oscar and I thought I don't hear it often (but I'm not around loads of small children) but it appears it may be more popular than I thought!!
I'm off work now too so can't run them through the data base for popularity comparison 🙈
Archie we only had 8 out of 10,900 which I thought was pretty good!! But I'm not loving it

Arlo has become really popular around us for boys and girls and loadsssssss of Teddy's, Charlie's etc
