Adelaide or Lydia?

We’ve been back and forth so many times and cannot decide - we’ll probably have to toss a coin soon!

Does anyone have any strong opinions either way?

We already have a Harriet.

Surname is three syllables, begins with B. Middle name will probably be Florence.

I think Lydia is such a beautiful name. Certainly on my list

VeniVidiViciTwice · 26/01/2019 14:56

Adelaide definitely!

Bamchic · 26/01/2019 14:57

Lydia Florence B. Would be a gorgeous name

ShadyLady53 · 26/01/2019 14:58

Lydia

NeutralJanet · 26/01/2019 14:59

I like Lydia better. Adelaide is fine in itself but would get shortened to Addy, which I don't like.

Ribbonsonabox · 26/01/2019 15:00

Both lovely. Personally I love Lydia a bit more.

averythinline · 26/01/2019 15:02

both are great but prefer Lydia - although knew a v cool Adee but think because of the 2 d's it may sound clunkier with a 3 syllable surname

or all 3! Lydia Adelaide Florence is great...

Frosty66611 · 26/01/2019 15:02

Lydia

averythinline · 26/01/2019 15:03

meant Aidee (so more unisex than Addy )

LizzieSiddal · 26/01/2019 15:03

Lydia is a beautiful name.

littlecabbage · 26/01/2019 15:03

Lydia. Sounds classy. Adelaide would make me wonder if she was conceived there!

ZebraKid71 · 26/01/2019 15:07

Love adelaide. Hate Lydia.

I just really don't like the sound of it at all.

MollyHuaCha · 26/01/2019 15:43

Lydia Florence

SweetbutAPsycho · 26/01/2019 15:55

Adelaide! Love it

bridgetreilly · 26/01/2019 16:05

Adelaide.

I find Lydia a bit drippy.

juniperbushes · 26/01/2019 16:06

My g.grandma's name was Adelaide, and possibly named after either one of Queen Victoria's children, who had it as a middle name, or Queen Adelaide, wife of King William IV.

The place in Australia is named after Queen Adelaide.

missmouse101 · 26/01/2019 16:09

Yikes, not keen on either! Sorry op! Both very harsh sounding.

Shadow1234 · 26/01/2019 16:11

Love Adelaide, not keen on Lydia.

HelenaJustina · 26/01/2019 16:17

I loved both, both were on all my short lists! Sorry, no help but I think you’re onto a winner either way.

n0ne · 26/01/2019 16:22

Adore Lydia, was very nearly DD2's name

gentlyscented · 26/01/2019 16:24

Lydia x

Klm726 · 26/01/2019 18:09

Lydia. Because I love the nn Lyddie. It sounds like music!

SallyWD · 26/01/2019 22:05

Lydia is much, much better in my opinion

Ngaio2 · 26/01/2019 22:39

Adelaide is more unusual than Lydia. If you want to shorten it there is always Adele or Adela.
Both names have a nice feel on thee tongue.

SwimmingJustKeepSwimming · 26/01/2019 22:44

Adelaide is a name like Sydney or Devon or Skye or any other place name. would be weird if they ever wanted to go to Australia. (Im still waiting for aomeone to come over with names such as southampton or Edinburgh or Sussex!!)

Not one that really goes with Harriet in my mind. But shouldnt stop you if you like it.
