Hi,

Considering this name for my newborn DD. Interested to know how most people would spell this without being told, and are some versions more typically used for a boy rather than a girl?

Really not sure what the usual spelling is and not keen to give her a name she has to spell out her whole life. I'm in Surrey if it helps.

I wouldn't use any of those names. They seem a bit downmarket.

Skylar is lovely. Skyla is awful, though the are usually pronounced the same. I believe Skyler is more commonly used for boys but can be both. Skyler is better than Skyla. Or the Dutch Schuyler I like too.

Schuyler is ridiculous. Really? You can imagine a little girl named Schuyler? I know it’s the original form of the name but it’s unusable. I can’t believe anyone is suggesting it.

I would also spell it Schuyler. It's traditional, not ridiculous. I'm sure there are plenty of little girls named Schuyler. The one I know of is now in her late teens.
