I think it’s elegant while being spunky and would balance it out with a very feminine middle name like Evangeline or Isadora. What do you think?

I work in central London and 4 of the people there who have recently had babies (2/3 years) have called their daughters Juno. Its a media company and they are all/were hipster types so maybe that is why.

SuperstarDJ · 06/01/2019 12:41

That’s very unusual that 4 work colleagues would all give their children who were born round about the same time the same name.

I love it, I actually know siblings called Juno and Margot! I don't think it is pretentious at all and is only popular in my area among the hipster type.

However, whilst I don't know many little girls called Juno, it is the kind of name that I find it awkward if there is more than one in a situation. I think because I see it as quirky that it seems odd in situations where they aren't the only one. This is just my weird thing though!

Love it.

It sounds too much like 'D'you know?'. OK otherwise but probably more popular than you think.

Ca55andraMortmain · 06/01/2019 15:05

I have a 6 month old Juno. I love it but it does have drawbacks that I didn't think of before we called her it.

  1. It sounds like d'you know (this doesn't actually bother me but people do like to point it out).
  2. Loads of people have never heard of it and give you the wtf face when you say her name.
  3. Loads of people assume it's a boy's name because of the o ending.

As I said though, I love dd's name and, like you, think it's spunky and beautiful and different. I just mention the above because when I was choosing names I wanted to know about all the potential pitfalls!

It was one of my two girl choices. Love it. Is definitely gaining!

UrsulaPandress · 06/01/2019 17:46

Love it.
Which film?
Juno and the Paycock for me.

TatianaLarina · 06/01/2019 21:54

Love Juno. Juno and Margot are great together. Juno Isadora is great.

Can’t stand Evangeline which sounds like vage to me.

Alwaysatyke · 06/01/2019 21:58

Is it just me who thinks Isadora sounds too much like Wizadora?

GherkinsOnToast · 06/01/2019 22:02

Love it - was ton my list along with Noa. We were going with Juno Eloise and Noa Elizabeth.

FartnissEverbeans · 08/01/2019 14:08

I love it! DS was going to be Juno Violet if he was a girl. The Juno space probe entered Jupiter’s orbit when I was pregnant Grin

Newyearsameoldshit · 08/01/2019 21:06

I have a Juno Violet!

It's a fab name OP, go for it!
