Aria or Charlotte

What do you think of Aria? Too faddy/trendy? Will it suit an adult? Is it becoming too common? Do you think of Game of Thrones? I’ve nevr watched it but OH thinks people will assume it’s from that?

What about Charlotte? Too boring/traditional? Do you know many baby Charlottes? She would not be Lottie as we have a Lottie in extended family who is just Lottie tho.

Middle names Aria Elizabeth or Charlotte Amanda.

Thanks!

It sounds like you’re going for Aria op and if that’s what you love then you should go for it- she’ll be your daughter and it’s your chance to name her, not mumsnet’s

Aria is just awful. I don’t get the obsession with this name, never watched GoT. Like others are saying, Charlotte is timeless, Aria will date badly IMO.

I like both but they are completely different. It is really obvious from your posts that you prefer Aria, so you should go with that.
It is popular so a lot of other people clearly like it too.
It probably will date but does it matter? Mumsnet name enthusiasts tend not to like faddy names but IMO most kids actually like having trendy names that are acceptable in their peer group.
I would personally try and avoid a faddy name but if I loved a name it wouldn't stop me using it.

Aria is a musical term, it has nothing to do with Game of Thrones. I know an Aria in her 40s (musical parents).

Definitely Charlotte, beautiful classic name that will never date.

Aria is ok but it’s very popular at the moment

Aria and Arya are different names, it's surprising how many people don't realise that.

Arya is GOT, not Aria... Which is definitely more common than the two.
