Wilf or Albie?

Baby is due at the end of Feb and we don't know the sex.
I thought we'd settled on Wilfred for a boy (known as Wilf). But we've decided we also quite like Albert (known as Albie).
Is Albie too much along the lines of Archie/Alfie etc? Which one is nicer?

Isn't Albie a diminutive for Albert? I'd go for Albert and call him Albie, informally.

Neither Xmas Sad

Albert, nn Albie if you must.

I know an Abie (Abraham). Just throwing it in the mix!

Both bad. Wilf is wet and the world has enough ie ending names for both boys and girls. You can do better OP.

Out of the 2 Albie or Do you like Wilbur. That's kind of a mix of both

tammytoby · 18/12/2018 21:39

Albie, Archie, Alfie are starting to sound dated. I'm not keen.

Wilfred is a little better but I'm not that keen either

fairylightsandfire · 18/12/2018 21:53

Love them both. I'd go for Wilfred (no. Wilf) a lovely name, didn't realise it was getting popular though, that's disappointing :( I knew a very handsome Wilf growing up

ViragoKnows · 18/12/2018 21:57

Wilbur is lovely.

Ipanema01 · 19/12/2018 10:36

Wilfred definitely! I really dislike Albie, sorry
