I think it's lovely. Do you know any under 50? What would you think of baby Geoffrey?

I know one aged around 32. He's a lovely guy, tends to go by Geoff.

I rather like it! Seems to be that magic formula of being unusual and familiar all at once.

ernjas · 08/12/2018 18:54

Sorry but I'd find a baby called Geoffrey a little funny! Don't think it's quite due a comeback.

JudasPrudy · 08/12/2018 19:07

Geoffrey is there with Maureen and Doreen, the world is not quite ready for baby Geoffrey, sorry. In 20 years though it'll be cool!

CurlsLDN · 08/12/2018 21:42

Well in 20 years baby Geoffrey will be 20, so the perfect age to be cool!

Shadow1234 · 08/12/2018 21:59

Not to my taste i'm afraid

MacavityTheDentistsCat · 08/12/2018 22:06

I like it and have a cousin aged ca. 40 with the same name. I prefer the spelling Jeffrey though.

3in4years · 08/12/2018 22:44

I know one aged 13. I love the name, but prefer the spelling Jeffrey.

HappyGoLuckyGo · 08/12/2018 23:32

Somehow Geoffrey seems old fashioned and Jeffrey seems cool... I know a Jeff and he’s a total babe so I’m biased. Smile Not my favourite name, but inoffensive!

BuffaloCauliflower · 08/12/2018 23:34

I agree, Jeffrey is inexplicably better than Geoffrey. I think a baby Jeff would be pretty cool.

DianaBlythe · 08/12/2018 23:37

I know a 32 year old Geoff too. Maybe it’s the same one! Otherwise there are 2 of them!

I actually think this would be totally fine if you like it.

Grumpasaurus · 08/12/2018 23:38

Don't think it really works anymore. Jeffrey is infinitely better but still not great!

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 08/12/2018 23:40

Also came to same Jeffrey is nicer. If you’ve ever seen the Michael McIntyre sketch about names you’ll know why it makes such a difference....

Jeff vs Gee Off!!

Moominfan · 08/12/2018 23:46

I just think fresh prince of bel air

Sophronia · 09/12/2018 04:26

I think Geoffrey is nicer than Jeffrey.

Astronica · 09/12/2018 05:24

I think it works. I would find it a pleasantly different name on a baby right now. It has plenty of history and tradition without being too popular. And I much prefer the Geoffrey spelling. Jeffrey is a modern Americanisation that is unappealing to me.

Fifthtimelucky · 09/12/2018 08:09

I know 2 Geoffreys in their 60s (both prefer Geoff) and I was at primary school with 2 others (one of whom was a Jeffrey) so they will both be in their 50s.

Not one of my favourite names, but I prefer it with a G.

tammytoby · 09/12/2018 08:51

I actually think a baby Geoffrey or Jeffrey would make a refreshing change from all the little Alfies, Teddies and Harrys.

shaggedthruahedgebackwards · 09/12/2018 08:54

I don't know any under 50

Its probably due a come back but I'm another than much prefers it spelled Jeffrey

Cookit · 09/12/2018 09:00

I know a 32 year old Geoff too! I bet it is the same person.

donquixotedelamancha · 09/12/2018 09:01

I think provided your other children are named George, Zippy and Bungle it's fine.

babystripes · 09/12/2018 22:07

My partners name and the same spelling he's 30 😆

MiseryLoves · 09/12/2018 22:10

There was (is?) a tv presenter called Jeff Brazier, must only be in his 30s.

I like it. Could go with Jethro for a more fashionable name if it worries you.

Amaaboutthis · 09/12/2018 22:15

It’s a bit like calling a baby Nigel. Please don’t do it

I love it.

So cute.

Although Jeffrey is easier and that is appealing. Being someone with an annoying spelling of name myself.
