Can you help me find a Scottish name that I like?

DH is Scottish (I am not) and we live in Scotland. I chose DD's name (had my heart set on it) and didn't really let DH have an input, however I promised DH if we ever had a son, he could chose the name. We found out we are indeed having a son and now DH is thinking of names. I need help to find Scottish boys names I actually like. Names that aren't to my personal taste are:

Angus
Douglas
Fergus
Seamus
Duncan
Ian
Alastair

And names such as that. I am definitely open to Gaelic names, DH is adamant he wants a Scottish name which is fine by me. There's lots of girls names that I like but I can't think of many boys names! I suggested Jamie but he doesn't like it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

@Molakai I must admit I've not read every suggestion (I will now) but I do love: Jamie, Fraser (anyone see what I did there), Archie and Rhudhari/various spellings. The names I listed in my OP I don't like due to the 'gus' sound.

I do think you’re being unfair to your dh though. I chose ds’s name - dh was quite unbothered. I couldn’t decide on dd’s name so dh chose it and tbh I wasn’t keen at all on what he picked but I like it now. (Both Scottish names incidentally)

starfishmummy · 02/12/2018 14:57

My Scottish friend has a Declan but it does sound Irish now you mention it.

Maybe it's Celtic Grin
