August if not born in August?

Love this name... but what if the birth date isn't in August?!

DD: ‘hi, I’m August, nice to meet you’
Other Person: ‘nice to meet you. Cool name, are you an August birthday?’
DD: ‘no, my birthday is in jan...’
IP: ‘ah, my birthday’s in March.’
DD: absolutely no concerns whatsoever.

And everyone learns to spell August in school, so....

To me it's a boys name. It was my great grandfather's middle name, but he was Swedish so it was pronunced ow-gust. I have no idea whether he was born in the month of August! If it's for a girl, Augusta is better.
