Mc ‘something’ I always fancied a Scottish surname

TatianaLarina · 06/11/2018 21:05

It’s what every Glastonbury twit called Paul calls themselves.

TatianaLarina · 06/11/2018 21:05

Pendragon that is.

Lobsterquadrille2 · 06/11/2018 21:05

@Yourcupwillneverempty always wanted Fox. Amy Fox is brilliant.

Or you could go for a flower

Poppy

Something short so filling in forms is quicker

My cousin has the best surname ever - she married a Swiss chap and her surname is now Cockriser (not actually that spelling, can never remember how it’s spelled but pronounced as cock riser).

I used to know someone who'd changed her surname to Phoenix - reborn from the ashes, etc.

Trivia fact: Turkey introduced surnames in 1934, so everyone had to pick. Some of the most common ones are the Turkish words for: Brave, Star, Falcon, Iron, Steel, Rock.

In case any of those appealed!

I love Hawthorne, Cavendish and Appleby from above.

Allycumpooster · 06/11/2018 22:30

I’d be Wolfe if I changed my name.

Dafspunk · 06/11/2018 22:35

Wilde. Love it.

Whatcanisayexceptyourewelcome · 06/11/2018 22:36

Tatiana oh no, is it? That's ruined it for me, I was thinking of more of a daphne du maurier historic bodice ripper.

How about a natural name like Forest or Bramble? Depends what you are like and what you like really OP!

MsJuniper · 06/11/2018 22:42

Wild, like the feminist communes.

Every Amy I have ever known has had a noun as a surname -strange but true!
I've known a Gold, a Lake, and a Sugar. Some of the above suggestions like Holiday and Valentine fit that and sound wonderful

I knew a famity who changed their name to Snowball, which is really rather wonderful. I like my surname, but if I was going to change it I think would go for Lutyens or Trinity.
