Which one? We have a short surname which puts me off Skye a bit but I love it.
We honeymooned in the Isle of Skye so it has extra special meaning.
Already have a DS Rory.

Skye is a lovely name and underused. I'm not so keen on Erin.

wildewillow · 28/10/2018 08:51

I think Skye is lovely and spunky!

Erin

I just think I would hate to be called Skye as it seems like it would only for the type of person who is always overly happy about everything and that could be hard to pull off, but maybe it's just me.

I really like Erin.

And for what it's worth I only know 1 Erin and am know 1 Skye

queenofelves · 28/10/2018 09:27

Erin is gorgeous! Definitely that one

I have similar reservations on Skye. I love it but does it suit everyone? Maybe not.
I would be tempted to put it with a classic strong middle name like Alexandra so she could always use that if she felt it was a bit too hippy.

100% erin lovely name.
Skye just doesn’t sound grown up enough for a woman trying to make it in the real world.

daisypond · 28/10/2018 10:11

I like Erin, but I think it's only OK to use if you've got Irish roots.

EloisaJane · 28/10/2018 10:17

Baby will be half Irish by the way.

Erin is fine, then! I think I prefer it to Skye, but I like that as well. There isn't really much difference in type between Erin and Skye - they're both place names, so I don't quite know why they have a different feel.

Sessy19 · 28/10/2018 11:11

I think Skye as a name has kind of passed, and Erin is more timeless. But it’s nice to choose a name with geographic significance to you 😊

MyNewBearTotoro · 28/10/2018 11:12

Erin

Merrz · 28/10/2018 11:16

I love Erin, would definitley be using it if my friend didn't have a baby Erin. Also love Rory, good choices OP

30birthdayholiday · 28/10/2018 11:23

I have a baby Erin, love it, really suits her!

DramaAlpaca · 28/10/2018 11:25

I like both but Erin edges it because it sounds better with Rory.

Hildegard36 · 28/10/2018 12:12

I love Erin Skye, I think that’s beautiful and different

RickOShay · 28/10/2018 12:14

I like both but prefer Skye.

RosiePosies · 28/10/2018 12:27

I LOVE the name Skye - I stupidly loved it so much that I called my cat it so if this baby is a girl I'm going to be so annoyed!! : )

anitagreen · 28/10/2018 14:16

Erin reminds me of Erin budina not a name to be associated with

SilverySurfer · 28/10/2018 15:44

Erin is lovely

Fozzleyplum · 28/10/2018 15:48

How about looking at names of places on Skye? I love Torrin, and would probably use it for a girl, even though it's usually used as a boy's name.

SuperstarDJ · 28/10/2018 16:08

Erin. Agree with PP about using Skye as the middle name.

Brot64 · 28/10/2018 16:10

If you had Erin Skye, does that not sound a bit like Air and Sky, which is maybe a bit odd?
