Which girls name would you ‘pair up’ with Quintin (NN most probably Quinn), for a twin sister; Beatrix, Cecily, Margot or Penelope?

We want to avoid their names being matchy as much as possible. Our other options are Zachary and Margot (but we won’t pair any of the other girl name options with Zachary due to them rhyming)

Older siblings are Aurora (Rora), Theo(dore) & Violet (Letty) Thank you for all your help - on all my posts... We’re almost there now then you’ll finally be shot of me lol.

Penelope!

Icklepup · 25/10/2018 20:30

Penelope

Viviviolet · 25/10/2018 20:40

Margot!!

teenybean · 25/10/2018 21:12

Beatrix definitely

TaggieRR · 25/10/2018 21:15

I like Cecily. As an aside I thought it was Quentin

pixieloux · 25/10/2018 21:19

We’re still undecided on Quintin vs Quentin. Quentin is pronounced Kwen-Tin where as Quintin is Kwin-Tin so the Quinn NN flows more naturally - and that’s what first made us think of the name as we considered it as a MN for Zachary (Quinn)

What about Quinten? You still have the Quinn sound for nn.

LostInTheColonies · 25/10/2018 21:44

I was at uni with a Quinton - makes Quinn as a nn even easier.

And Penelope Smile.

MumUnderTheMoon · 25/10/2018 22:30

Penelope is lovely what about Persephone or hermione or iris?

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 25/10/2018 22:32

I must live in a different world! I don’t know anyone with names like this! Grin

pixieloux · 25/10/2018 22:44

We did consider Persephone and Hermione, @MumUnderTheMoon but these are what we’ve narrowed it down to :)

We’re considering them just to widen your chances, @GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat!

It wasn’t a criticism, I’m interested hence clicking on the thread. Apologies if you were offended.

pixieloux · 25/10/2018 23:09

Not at all, @GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat - I was messing around lol.

Oh good Smile

pixieloux · 25/10/2018 23:16

I have an almost 7 year old Aurora (that was around #700 in the charts here when we named her), I’m used to ‘unusual’ and I’m certainly not offended by it Grin

Cecily, it's one of my absolute favourites.

Also I was at uni with a Cecily and she was lovely.

moredoll · 26/10/2018 03:54

It's Quentin, pronounced Quin tin.

I like Margot and Cecily from your list.
Or how about Coralie?

Quantumblue · 26/10/2018 04:00

I know twins called Quinten and Zachary! South African.

How about Josephine or Isabella?

Quentin is pronounced as Kwen-Tin, @moredoll - like Quentin Blake or Tarantino. I had this debate with my husband the other night and he is right lol. I was originally spelling it Quentin as I prefer the look of it. Right now we’re undecided on which to go for... We like Kwen-Tin but I guess Quinn flows more naturally from Quintin, Quinton, Quinten, etc.

We’ll be choosing from these four girls names... It feels like we’ve already been through every name there is lol.

MonkeyToucher · 26/10/2018 11:59

Would you consider just Quinn (ie not short for anything)? I would assume Quintin is made up/you couldn’t spell Quentin!

I think Quinn and Margot is a lovely pair 😍

pixieloux · 26/10/2018 12:09

We’d like a name we can shorten as all our other children use NNs. Quintin is legitimate but I do prefer Quentin. I think we may just do Quentin, NN Quinn anyway - I think it still works.

OP posts:
crazygirluk · 26/10/2018 12:09

I agree, how about just Quinn? I personally don't think it needs to be a shortening of another name.

pixieloux · 26/10/2018 12:11

Plus we do like Quentin/Quintin. It’s traditional but still quite quirky.
