Millie is sweet but agree with pp it doesn't sound like a full name. Short for Millicent or Emilia or Camilla, yes.

Florence is fine but very popular at the moment. I like Scarlett.

ButterflyOfFreedom · 18/10/2018 06:39

Scarlett is my favourite, it's a lovely name.

Not keen on the other two.
Millie seems like it's short for something; Florence just seems too old fashioned to me (though I know it's popular more recently).

Awrite · 18/10/2018 06:44

I like Scarlett the best.

Then Millie.

Don't like Florence.

IAmAllAsttonishnent · 18/10/2018 06:44

I loved Florence for so long as it’s a family name and Scarlett because I adore GWTW!

However, both names have become quite overdone in my area 😒 (expensivr northern city)
They used to be a bit unusual but not anymore. 😒

Millie is sweet but more normal

KateTTC123 · 18/10/2018 11:58

We are calling ours Scarlett if she's a girl; I love the name!

daisypond · 18/10/2018 12:39

Florence is my favourite. I don't like Millie as a name in itself. But Camilla would be a very good option, better than Amelia, Millicent, etc. Scarlett is OK, though not my cup tea.

EvieV28 · 18/10/2018 12:43

Don't like Millie, to me it's a nickname and it's extremely popular where I live.
Florence is my favourite, Scarlett is ok.

RoboJesus · 18/10/2018 12:48

I love Millie if it's short for Amelia

GeoffreysCat · 18/10/2018 12:53

Florence is my favourite. Love Flo as a nickname. I know three little Florences.

I don't like Scarlett. I know two Scarletts and both get called Scar which is horrible.

lilballofanxiety · 21/10/2018 22:29

Thank you all very much for your opinions! Does anybody know any nicknames for Florence?Smile

They are all nice names but agree Millie is a nickname. Camilla is nice!

Florence - Flo, Flora

LoveB · 21/10/2018 22:40

Florrie Smile the best name around!

SnowyMountains · 21/10/2018 23:56

My DD (who is now 19) went to school with a Florence, she went by Flo. I'm not sure thats a great nickname though.

I think Florence is best even if its bit popular

Millie and Scarlett seemed to have been over used in the past 10 years and have seemed to have peaked. They are nice names though.

Amaaboutthis · 21/10/2018 23:58

Scarlett is dreadful. The others are nice

moredoll · 22/10/2018 02:34

Millie

Sungura · 22/10/2018 05:34

Scarlett is my favorite, Florence my least.

villainousbroodmare · 22/10/2018 05:43

Florence is the best. I dislike Millie; I think it's very drab.

BaggaT · 22/10/2018 05:46

I prefer Florence too.
I just don’t like the ‘scar’ in Scarlett. It’s all too harsh sounding for me.

OutPinked · 23/10/2018 12:50

Millie is Millicent. I’m not a fan of diminutives as given names.
Scarlett isn’t great, always makes me think of a lap dancer/pornstar.
Florence is the best.

orangetriangle · 25/10/2018 19:12

Scarlett then Florence not keen on Millie doesnt sound like a proper name

JosellaPlayton · 25/10/2018 19:15

Love Florence
Like Scarlett
Hate Millie

SmallestInTheClass · 25/10/2018 19:25

There are a million little Florences round here, but if you don't mind a very popular name it's OK. Scarlett is a great name but does make me think of Scarlett Johansson or Scarlet O'hara. Millie is lovely, my favourite of these, but would give a long name (Matilda/Amelia/millions etc) in case they want a more 'serious' name as a grown up.

SmallestInTheClass · 25/10/2018 19:25

Argh, not millions, Millicent!

queenbeetofive · 25/10/2018 23:59

@SmallestInTheClass my daughter was named after scarlet O'hara lol love gone with the wind

Kitty6 · 26/10/2018 00:25

Like Wherearemykeys says, people I asked when pregnant thought Scarlett was 'chavvy' and not classy :-(
Not sure about Florence. Bit stodgy as someone earlier says..no spark to it imo.
I like Milly...Emilia...I don't know any... lovely.
