Hi all Grin we are due our baby (we haven't found out the gender) on 24 December Smile

Is there any Christmas themed baby names out there? Would love to see what I think of a few as it's a nice idea for a little Christmas baby [santa]

Aside from Holly I seem to be drawing a blank!!

Crispin - not really a Christmas name but sounds it to me. Maybe I'm thinking 'when the snow lay round about, deep and Crispin even' Grin

Natasha is lovely.

Eira I think is a Welsh name meaning snow, or Olwen means white footprint? Sure a real Welsh person will correct me.

Steren is Cornish for star.

Dasha - like the reindeer.

Nieves (nee-eh-ves) Castilian Spanish for snow
Neus (neh-oos) Catalan for snow
Edurne (ed-ern-eh) Basque for snow.
= all girls' names. I know a couple of each.

There’s a Christmas in my husband’s family tree. He preferred to be known as Chris. Can’t think why Grin

MarcieBluebell · 02/10/2018 01:45

I like Holly.

fieryginger · 02/10/2018 02:16

Good King Wenceslas.

Only joking, I had a Christmas baby, we were released Boxing Day. We had a 4 bed ward to ourselves, the Carol singers came round and that made me cry. Santa came and bought her a little wolly hat, a flannel and a bar of soap. We had Christmas doilies and a cracker with Xmas dinner - she was my first, and it was magical.

A friend of mine called her daughter Winter.

Congratulations op. 🎉

Eeyore - everyone forgets Mary's donkey!

ChristmasArmadillo · 02/10/2018 03:27

As a person with a Christmas Day birthday — please don’t. Grin Of course I’m being lighthearted as you can name your child whatever you like but I do feel like my parents didn’t put much original thought into my name and just chose something vaguely holiday themed.

TheDowagerCuntess · 02/10/2018 05:22

There are some lovely suggestions on this thread, and I think Noelle is lovely (Noel less so!).

But as a Christmas baby myself, I'd caution against it. And I say this as someone who adores Christmas!! ☀️🎄

sashh · 02/10/2018 05:46

ChristmasArmadillo

It's not just Christmas when people can have a lack of imagination, my mum was born in June, so that's what they called her.

Holly
Ivy
Jesus
Shepherd
Sean (as in the sheep - not obviously Xmas)
John and or Lewis
Mary
Joseph
Caesar
Gabrielle / Gabriel
Eve - if actually born on the 24th
Anastasia for the 25th
Stephen / Stephanie if born on the 26th

The last 2 are saints days.

Booie09 · 02/10/2018 06:08

Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner and Blitzen. Santa??

Thighofrelief · 02/10/2018 09:16

Sassh - I find it more disappointing when they are not.

I know a June not born in June.
April not born in April.
Tuesday not born on a Tuesday.

It's just not tidy!!!

sashh · 02/10/2018 09:42
