Any names suggestions?
Also loving Ziggy but only as nicknames any full name suggestions for it?

Sigmund or Sigismund.

Tinywhale · 12/09/2018 18:50

Wikipedia says that Ziggy is short for Zygmunt. Who knew?!

I really wouldn’t choose that though!

pinkyredrose · 12/09/2018 18:51

Why not just Ziggy as a full name? Its fab!

ConsiderHerWaysAndOthers · 12/09/2018 18:54

I knew a Ziggy at school who was actually called Peter. The official long version is Zigmund which is an unusual variant of Sigmund. You could also go for something beginning with a Z like Zachary or Zachariah but then it’s quite a leap to get to Ziggy. If you like Ziggy (for what it’s worth I love Edward, George and Rupert but really dislike Ziggy) then just call him that and be done with it.

formerbabe · 12/09/2018 19:16

Teddy and Rupert? No! Far too many bear connotations!

Ziggy is a bit trendy sounding

Susannach · 12/09/2018 19:18

Zachary for Ziggy is inspired! Do it Smile Ziggy is v cool but definitely not substantial enough for a full name.

A580Hojas · 12/09/2018 19:20

Yep, love Ziggy. Go for it!

foreverblessedbee · 12/09/2018 19:24

I know I'm probably very old (43!) But to me I just think ziggy stardust? Or was it alvin stardust?Grin either way I'm thinking it sounds like a glam rock star or the name of a cat. Regardless though, it's what YOU love that matters. If it rocked your boat-go for it! Ps our chocolate brown cockapoo is called Rupert Wink

hobblesma · 12/09/2018 19:27

I used to have a dog called Ziggy. After Ziggy Stardust.

Perhaps it's an age thing, I'm over 40

a11o · 12/09/2018 19:29

I actually really like it as a name on it's own!!!

Nopoohbear · 12/09/2018 19:30

I know 3 ziggys- I think people have chosen it recently as it’s quite quirky and seems unusual but it’s actually really popular if you don’t mind that?

Aprilshowersnowastorm · 12/09/2018 19:31

Zygmunt is a cunt isn't a cute nn so please no!!
Ziggy on its own is brave but cool imo!

Nanasueathome · 12/09/2018 19:32

There is a boy in my grandsons reception class called Ziggy

Alwa · 12/09/2018 19:32

Ezikiel ziggy or Zeke

RiceButt · 12/09/2018 19:33

I have a Rupert, but no I wouldn't pair it with a Teddy.

ToBeARockAndNotToRoll · 12/09/2018 19:33

Ziggy played guitar...Smile

I do like it, but would consider it more of a nickname.

HonestReally · 12/09/2018 19:38

What abouy ‘Zibi’. I think it’s a nickname based on a longer polish name.

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 12/09/2018 19:50

Makes me think of Ziggy Marley Smile

chipsandgin · 12/09/2018 19:53

Makes me think of a pet (as does Oscar, Felix & Rufus) - I know one Ziggy dog & two cats!

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 12/09/2018 19:54

Zigmin.

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 12/09/2018 19:55

Zebedy

GinIsIn · 12/09/2018 19:58

George is great. You can’t have Rupert and Teddy!

MilesHuntsWig · 12/09/2018 19:59

@hobblesma same here - our cat's called Ziggy.

Whydididothatfuckingthing · 12/09/2018 19:59

Love Ziggy, but I’m biased used to fancy Ziggy from Grange Hill.

bichonbaby · 12/09/2018 20:00
