Robyn

I'm currently 30 weeks pregnant with a baby girl and am struggling to decide on a name. One of the very few names we agree on is Robyn.
I like it as it is not too common but is not so unusual that it's hard to spell/pronounce. Just really looking for peoples opinions on the name and if I need to go back to the drawing board.

I like it. I know one aged 7 years old.

GinAfterBedtime · 28/08/2018 20:16

I think that's lovely. Do you have a middle name picked out?

ohdeardeardear · 28/08/2018 20:16

Love it Smile

veeboo · 28/08/2018 20:20

Its one of my faves for a girl but I would spell it Robin. Go for it. I love it either way.

Icklepup · 28/08/2018 20:23

I like it

CarrieBlu · 28/08/2018 20:26

@veeboo I think Robin is usually the recognised spelling when using it as a boy’s name. May be wrong on this though!

Either way, it’s a lovely name. Have known a few Robyn/Robin’s and they’ve all been cheery, happy people.

ReginaPhalange89 · 28/08/2018 20:27

I really like it. I only know one Robyn, she's around 16/17 and gorgeous. It's a beautiful name , girly but different ! In a good way

NonJeNeRegretteRien · 28/08/2018 20:28

Love it. Would have been in the running for us if an acquaintance didn’t have it already xx

remember1 · 28/08/2018 20:29

GinAfterBedtime not picked a middle name yet as been so stuck for a first name! My DD (11) isn't keen on the name which made me doubt myself but the positive replies have been reassuring.

I love the name Robyn. I have a friend named Robyn and we are expecting DS2 and are considering Robin for his middle name.

LusaCole · 28/08/2018 20:32

I like it. I know one girl Robyn and one boy Robin.

MorrisDancingViv · 28/08/2018 20:33

It's one of my favourite names. Sadly doesn't work with either mine or DP's surname.

RedDwarves · 28/08/2018 21:34

I don't like it. Robyns are only 60+ year olds in Australia. I would find it very odd on a baby - a bit like Susan or Janet.

Treaclespongeandcustard · 28/08/2018 21:37

I love it. It was in our top 3 for both DD’s. Congratulations op Flowers

LaurieMarlow · 28/08/2018 22:01

I love it for a boy or a girl (I'd spell it with an 'i' though). Unfortunately for me DH vetoed it for DS2.

Jeffers3 · 28/08/2018 22:06

I bloody love it. I know 2 Robyn’s, one 26 and the other 7 both lovely!

AnyaMoondial · 28/08/2018 22:16

Yep, really good name.

EmmaC78 · 28/08/2018 22:58

I love it too.

Sophronia · 28/08/2018 23:36

Not keen, I see it as a bit of an 80s name.

Goostacean · 29/08/2018 00:46

Like it! Don’t be swayed by your other DD, one day she can (hopefully) choose her own baby names! 😁

Joeybee · 29/08/2018 01:32

I like this name. It is totally underused but is such a lovely name. You're right that it is easy to say and spell, is uncommon but not unusual. I think Robyn could suit any type of person.

piggie88 · 29/08/2018 03:19

I love it! Couldn’t use it as a first name but it is my newborn daughter’s middle name.

Vitalogy · 29/08/2018 04:25

I like it. Always liked the unisex names.

moredoll · 29/08/2018 05:02

It's great.
I also think Robyn - girl, Robin - boy.

CountFosco · 29/08/2018 08:01

I love it but would spell it with an i for a boy or a girl. I think with a y is a misspelling (like Rachael) that has become widespread.
