Which spelling do you prefer?

Middle name likely to be Laura or Aurelia.

Surname one syllable.

I prefer Juliet.

Ozgirl01 · 25/08/2018 15:25

I much prefer Juliet.

BeyondMyThoughts · 25/08/2018 15:26

Juliet

DramaAlpaca · 25/08/2018 15:26

Well it depends which pronunciation you prefer, to me they are quite different names.

Juliet has the stress on the first syllable, so it's a bit like JOO-li-et, or sometimes JOOLyut (if you get my drift, it's hard to write out sounds)

Juliette is Joo-li-ETT.

I prefer Juliet myself.

bridgetreilly · 25/08/2018 15:29

Juliet. I pronounce them exactly the same.

ReginaPhalange89 · 25/08/2018 15:55

Juliet 100%

Danglingmod · 25/08/2018 15:56

Juliet is much nicer and I pronounce them the same.

TillyTheTiger · 25/08/2018 15:57

Juliet

Sunflower321 · 25/08/2018 15:58

Juliet (JOOLiet) is nicer than Juliette (Jool-ee-ETTE)

Sophronia · 25/08/2018 17:19

I also pronounce them differently. I prefer Juliet.

shaggedthruahedgebackwards · 25/08/2018 17:23

I would pronounce them the same but prefer Juliet

Juliette looks unnecessarily frilly to me

bengalcat · 25/08/2018 17:25

Ok I seem to buck the trend as I would use Juliette - however both are gorgeous - just chose Juliette as it seems more modern

AtticaRose · 25/08/2018 17:26

Juliet. I pronounce them the same.

BertrandRussell · 25/08/2018 17:29

Juliet. Pronounced JULyet.

BertrandRussell · 25/08/2018 17:29

For simplicity, go for Julia!

LeeMiller · 25/08/2018 17:52

Juliet. Beautiful name.

Juliette is the French version of Juliet. If you have no French connection and won't be pronouncing it with a French accent then it seems unnecessary.

MargotLovedTom1 · 25/08/2018 17:55

Juliet.
The same as preferring Isabel over Isabelle, and Annabel over Annabelle. Extra letters are too frilly, as pp said.

SuperstarDJ · 25/08/2018 17:56

It’s number one on our list at the moment for DD2 and it’ll be Juliet if that’s the name we go with.

MollyHuaCha · 25/08/2018 18:10

Juliet. I would pronounce it Juli-ETT.

annandale · 25/08/2018 18:13

Juliet.

I love Julian for girls and Judith too. I think there should be more use of July as well.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 25/08/2018 18:16

Juliet.

MikeUniformMike · 25/08/2018 18:33

Much prefer Juliet. Don't like the Jooly-ETTE sound.

fattyboomboomboom · 26/08/2018 00:24

I love Juliet Laura.

LilMadAgain · 26/08/2018 00:29

They both sound the same and are nice. So unless you're an oddball who insists that it's 'Juliet' pronounced 'Graham' you're golden.

RedDwarves · 26/08/2018 00:32

Juliet.

Juliette is unnecessary unless you live in France or a French-speaking country/territory.
