Which spelling do you prefer?

Middle name likely to be Laura or Aurelia.

Surname one syllable.

I love Juliet

They are pronounced differently. So go with the pronunciation you prefer.

MrMeSeeks · 26/08/2018 00:59

I love Juliette, much prefer that

LMDC · 26/08/2018 02:30

I pronounce them differently & prefer the pronunciation of Juliette

HavingALittleBabyToolshed · 26/08/2018 03:47

We have Juliet on our list too, without the extras. Likely middle names Eithne or Róisín.

CormoranStrike · 26/08/2018 07:37

Juliet - beautiful, classic name.

AnyaMoondial · 26/08/2018 07:42

Juliet

Maybe I’m stressing the syllables wrong in Juliet but I much prefer the sound in Juliette- think the stressing of ette sounds prettier

bloopitybloop · 29/08/2018 14:52

I am in the minority but much prefer Juliette and I would pronounce them differently. Which oronounciation were you thinking of? That should be how you spell it ?

Sunflower321 · 29/08/2018 15:43

In French, JuliETTE sounds beautiful.

In English, JULiet sounds best.

Flamingosnbears · 29/08/2018 17:01

Juliet

Joeybee · 29/08/2018 18:43

I think you could go with either spelling and you'll get a mixed response to this. That's what puts me off this name.
Personally I think Juliette looks nicer and more interesting. Plus you can get Jette as a nickname. Longer names just seem more versatile to me.
I also think Juliet looks a little plain.
However I think more people would go to spell the name Juliet and she'll spend her life correcting people. That gets really annoying really quickly (trust me) so maybe just go with popular opinion and use Juliet.

daisypond · 29/08/2018 18:52

Juliet. Juliette is pronounced differently - fine if you're French, but it looks too frou-frou in the UK.

PenelopeThePufferfish · 29/08/2018 19:25

I would pronounce these two spellings differently; one like Romeo and... and the other like Binoche
for me! So JOO-Lee-ett and Jool-YETT.
