Hello! my husband is american, from new orleans, and he's quite set on southern names for our son due in a month. i myself don't mind southern names, but there is one he suggested that i can't tell if i love or hate: Hazel for a boy. he suggested this because a southern writer flannery o'conner wrote a story about a male soldier called Hazel, and apparently the name is quite popular for boys in the south. To be honest, the more i think about the name, the more it looks and sounds fine: any opinions/thoughts? Thanks!

How about Hayes?

Rebecca36 · 15/08/2018 03:37

Well if Hazel is a popular name for a boy in the American south and you live there, that would be fine. However if you live anywhere else, it's a girl's name.

Hayden, Ezekiel? In the UK it would be like calling your boy Laura, I don't think it's a good idea, sorry.
