Girls name for number 2

Hi

Looking for some perspective on a names discussion that is rapidly reaching stalemate with DH.

First daughter is called Orla Mhairi.
We are expecting another girl in December.

My absolute favourite was Imogen but this is unacceptable to DH so am trying to let it go.

Current options are:

Lena
Anya
Alanna

The middle name will be Mairead.

I like them all but feel like they are all a bit similar sounding to Orla (I am Laura which makes it even worse) and I don't really want rhymy-rhymy. But I would be surprised if we come up with anything else.

What do you think? What would you choose? Any other suggestions (ideally looking for a Scottish or Irish name. Lena is a family name and Anya is a bastardisation of Aine)

Thanks!

Laura

Don’t think that there is a problem using another name ending in ‘a’. They don’t rhyme, it would be weird to use something like Paula with Laura & Orla but your 3 choices are fine.

How about Clodagh Mairead ?
From your list, I would choose Anya, very pretty.

redmini4 · 08/08/2018 09:52

Alanna.

Sophronia · 08/08/2018 10:13

Lena Mairead

Icklepup · 08/08/2018 10:43

Anya Mairead

ReginaPhalange89 · 08/08/2018 10:46

I think I like Anya best, but they're all pretty ! Any of them would be nice with Orla

AtticaRose · 08/08/2018 11:10

Anya

ladycarlotta · 08/08/2018 11:25

Anya or is there a reason you aren't going for Aine? It's also lovely.

Fivefootoffun · 08/08/2018 11:30

Lena from your list. Or how about Morven, to be completely not rhymy?

schopenhauer · 08/08/2018 13:15

I think Anya is lovely and goes well with Orla.

Maireadd · 08/08/2018 13:18

Great choice of middle Grin

How about Ailsa?

Maireadd · 08/08/2018 13:18

I like Anya best from your list, and I think all your options are different enough from Orla.

rainbowstardrops · 08/08/2018 13:20

I love Anya

ZebraKid71 · 08/08/2018 13:37

Another vote for Anya. I actually think it sounds nicer than Aine. Plus Annie is a better shortening that Onnie, which is what the Aine I know gets called.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 08/08/2018 13:46

I find Anya a bit harsh. Anna is nicer to my ears.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 08/08/2018 14:09

I love Alannah. I was going to be an
Alana after my dad 'Alan'. However as soon as I was born my mum said I had the name Clare written all over me so They went with that instead

cholka · 08/08/2018 14:12

Ha ha from title I thought you called your turds Annie or something!

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 08/08/2018 14:39

Can i embarrass myself and ask What does bastardisation of a name mean

Honeybee79 · 08/08/2018 14:40

Anya is my favourite!

Lucylookingforhelp · 08/08/2018 17:48

Contrary to others not a fan of anya but am clearly in the minority. Do really like Lena though

DC2018 · 08/08/2018 17:59

We did think about Morven, but think it would be mistaken for Morgan all the time (it's not very common where we live, if we were in Scotland would probably be top choice)
