I did one a while back with Lucy and Isobel & Lucy won by a mile! (Which surprised me)

So now trying it against a similar sounding name 🙂

DD is Erin... Not yet pregnant but TTC x

Still Lucy!

Aridane · 01/08/2018 21:14

Both are beautiful names!

macdhui · 01/08/2018 21:14

Love Lucy

BendydickCuminsnatch · 01/08/2018 21:15

Lucy, there are so many Sophie/as around and I just prefer the sound of Lucy. In my head all Lucys are blonde though!

Theworldisfullofgs · 01/08/2018 21:16

Lucy (definitely and they are not blonde!)

DramaAlpaca · 01/08/2018 21:16

Lucy

DitheringBlidiot · 01/08/2018 21:19

Lucy!! They are all blonde, all the ones I know.

Dionysa · 01/08/2018 21:20

Both lovely, but as there are more Sophies than Lucys, I'd go for Lucy.

Pudding01 · 01/08/2018 21:22

Good chance of her being blonde @BendydickCuminsnatch (great name btw!) my DD is 😊

Love that I'm talking about an imaginary child lol But I promise I'm TTC x

Ditto blonde Lucys- the only one dark I “know” is Miss Penvensie ...
Actually saying that, Lucy in Snoopy has black hair... :)

Lucy by a mile Grin
What boys names do you have, OP?

AnyaMoondial · 01/08/2018 21:54

Yep, Lucy wins.

Pudding01 · 01/08/2018 21:56

Well we may break the stereotype if she comes out darker 😆 I love the name. I've met two blonde Lucy's and one dark Lucie in my lifetime.

Boys we really struggle on and never agreed during last pregnancy... I love George 💕 But DH doesn't. Others we've talked about are: Adam, Joseph, Joshua, Jack, Harry & Toby x

Lucy but prefer Isobel

Mollie85 · 01/08/2018 22:03

Love that you go for the more timeless classical names (Toby is the only one I’m not mad about).

Hope you soon get your BFP Grin

TroubledLichen · 01/08/2018 22:06

Sorry just my opinion but I find them both quite dull, and they don’t hold a candle to Erin which is lovely. That said Lucy is the better of the two.

Pudding01 · 01/08/2018 22:07

Thank you @Mollie85 😘 Toby was my least favourite too x

All opinions welcome @TroubledLichen.
Thank you 😊 What do you think to Isobel? x

SpongeBobGrannyPants · 01/08/2018 22:19

I find both perfectly fine but a bit dull. So many of them. Sorry.

FourFriedChickensDryWhiteToast · 01/08/2018 22:21

Sophie..

VivaLaVieBoheme · 01/08/2018 22:21

Both are lovely, but Lucy as less popular.

TroubledLichen · 01/08/2018 22:22

Probably just a result of my school days where every girl was called Emma, Lucy, Rachel, Sarah or Sophie! I love Isobel (probably because no one at school ruined it for me) but it is very popular for babies now, not that’s necessarily a bad thing. And for what it’s worth I love all your boys names, Joseph especially, it’s such a classic and you don’t hear it often these days. Good luck TTC Grin

thethoughtfox · 01/08/2018 22:22

Sophie / Sophias are everywhere

katycb · 01/08/2018 22:23

We had the same 2 to decide between but OH had a childhood dog called Lucy so we ended up with a Sophie! It suits her and whilst it is fairly common I think Sophia is more so. She has been the only one in her class at nursery etc. It is Isobel/Isabella/Anabelle/Anabella that are all over near us! We also have an Emily and the other names we had were Zoe and Chloe

Tigger001 · 01/08/2018 22:26

I prefer Lucy...when I was a baby I had a friend called Lucy, they used to call her Lucy locket never did know why, but I really like the name, definitely better than Sophie IMO. But that just might be because all I think of at the moment is a giraffe when I here Sophie, and I say Sophie multiple times a day .
