We're can't choose out of these names for our baby girl. Any suggestions?

Cleo.

Jeippinghmip · 30/07/2018 07:41

I love Cleo

Branleuse · 30/07/2018 07:43

Nina. I love it.

GoldenWombat · 30/07/2018 07:44

I love Greta - I had an awesome swimming instructor called Greta when I was a kid. She was super nice and an incredible sportswoman, the name will always have positive connotations for me :)

Every boy in my school fancied her. We were all very sad when she left after 10 years of teaching us how to swim!

Decanter · 30/07/2018 07:49

Greta. Probably biaised because I know a lovely teenage Greta.

BigM0mma · 30/07/2018 07:52

Thank you! I'm feeling even more confused now by such mixed reactions! I keep changing my mind about my favourite and it's hard because I don't even feel like we could use two names because I think we would need a longer name for middle name. We like Josephine, Anita or Elizabeth after family members, or Loretta just because.

I really dislike Greta and I’m not keen on Nola - prefer Nuala.

I really like Nina & Joni.

Janie is a bit blah imo and just seems like a twee nn for Jane rather than a proper name in its own right.

HeyDolly · 30/07/2018 07:53

Nina Josephine
Joni Elizabeth

Jackreacherswife · 30/07/2018 07:55

My daughter is called Joan after my grandma but called Joni by pretty much everyone except my son who couldn't say it so calls her noni.

hungryhippie · 30/07/2018 07:57

Greta is my favourite in that list

TempsPerdu · 30/07/2018 08:17

DD is Greta, so we’re obviously biased, but we really love her name. We wanted something that was slightly international, feminine without being girly or frilly, and known but not overused. We thought it might be something of a Marmite name, but we’ve had so many compliments since she was born, and the only issue we’ve had so far has been the odd pronunciation of ‘Greeta’.

I also love Cleo from your list, although I prefer the Clio spelling.

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 30/07/2018 08:22

Cleo or Joni.

Susannach · 30/07/2018 08:29

Cleo or Greta. So cool!

kenandbarbie · 30/07/2018 08:34

I like:
Greta - more unusual
And
Nina

Jillyjollyjandy · 30/07/2018 08:35

Greta

Cosmoa · 30/07/2018 08:46

Cleo Loretta has a gorgeous ring to it, don't you think?

AtticaRose · 30/07/2018 09:03

Greta or Nina for me!

RedDwarves · 30/07/2018 09:09

Greta's fabulous.

LoveInTokyo · 30/07/2018 09:28

Greta is my favourite from your list.

tootstastic · 30/07/2018 10:14

Greta all day long!

SheGotBetteDavisEyes · 30/07/2018 10:18

Josephine is my favourite name, followed by Elizabeth.

I never really worry how mn will sound as they rarely get used together.

Josephine Elizabeth (Joni for nn?) would be my choice.

Sciatica2 · 30/07/2018 10:19

I’m torn on Greta. It sounds too like “regret” to me but I love the shortening “Etta”.

TempsPerdu · 30/07/2018 10:33

My Greta’s only 8 months and goes by ‘Ettie’ at the mo. We love Etta too, and thought she might like that shortening as she gets older.

LeeMiller · 30/07/2018 12:19

Greta and Nina are simple, pretty, international. Janie or Joni are sweet but with Jane or Joan on the birth certificate. Cleo ok. Nola just makes me think of New Orleans, Louisiana.

Josephine is a gorgeous middle name (or first name, nn Joni), or Elizabeth with Janie/Joni. Loretta is a bit country and western.

NotAgainYoda · 30/07/2018 16:30

Greta or Nina

I dislike Cleo (goldfish in Disney film) and Janie (nickname)

Joni is quite nice

You probably don't want any more Wink but what about:

Stevie
Robyn
Billie
