Boys names beginning with J

Hi, were expecting our baby boy in September, we have 2 girls already.
Hubbys has his sights set on a name beginning with J to follow a family tradition. We have ruled out very traditional names eg John, jack, at th moment we like Jesse and jake. Jesse was a strong favourite until we mentioned it to a family member who immediately said its to girly and he would get called “ a big Jesse “ I think that saying is quite a generation thing and children he grows up with wouldn’t even relate that?
Any help/ suggestion please :) Smile

Joe/Joseph?

I love Jay - just on it's own - for a boy! Also Jonny (rather than John) or Jamie (rather than James) are cool.

MorrisDancingViv · 18/07/2018 12:29

I rather like Jesse but Joel is my favourite J name.

I have a Joel. Love Jesse too but DH said no.

The 'big Jessie' thing is definitely generational!

Thank you all for your replies, Joel and Jonah were on my list but my husband wasn’t keen. We do agree on Jesse and jake it’s was just the whole “ too girly” thing made me wonder on other people opinions.
My husband says to ignore the haters but I can’t help worry.
We also love jay but I think no matter what J name we call him his nick name can always be “J”
We had a girls name all set ready as we thought it’s bond to be girl after having 2 girls already this was a bit of a surprise ( a lovely one of course) xx
