Timothy!

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 06/12/2018 22:46

Yay! It's Timothy.

Ok, explanation!

1st sentence:
"This note is not misleading".
This sentence is a double negative; therefore we deduce the note IS 'leading'. A 'leading note' is the 7th note of a major scale, which is also known as 'ti' (just start singing "Doe, a Deer"... and you'll get to "ti - a drink with jam and bread") 😁

2nd sentence:
"Then its unattractiveness may bug you".
An unattractive bug is a moth.

3rd sentence:
"Then a short whiny enquiry".
A short enquiry is "why?" And children love to whine "whhhhyyyyyy?!". Or Y.

Ti + moth + y = Timothy

And...
Extra clues for Ti were: Sung from the Austrian Alps which referenced The Sound of Music (linking to Doe, a Deer...and finally to Ti). You put on the kettle for a cup of tea, not coffee

Extra clues for moth were: the colourful cousin is a butterfly, including the painted lady ('lady of the night'), the peacock ('vibrant bird') and the speckled wood ('freckled forest').

...I promise my next one will be less cryptic. Grin

Here's the baton back, @DuggeeHugs! Grin

DuggeeHugs · 07/12/2018 19:41

Definitely need to work on my mental agility @finallychangedmyusername - that was fun but tricky!

I'm going for a more straightforward one (because despite thinking about it all day that's all I can manage Xmas Blush )

This musical twin is twice a heroine to Will, though he knows it not.

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 08/12/2018 10:08

I have a feeling it might be Viola?

DuggeeHugs · 08/12/2018 10:55

It is indeed Viola @finallychangedmyusername Xmas Smile

A musical instrument, twin of Sebastian in the Merchant of Venice and also the heroine of Shakespeare in Love, though the Bard had no idea about the film.

And again to you!

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 08/12/2018 12:38

Yay, nice one @DuggeeHugs! Ok, I promised an easier one, here goes:

This man has his own stairs and boozy fjord. Fictitiously, he is but a mere spectre and politically he could perhaps be described as a quitter.

DuggeeHugs · 09/12/2018 20:51

Jacob?

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 09/12/2018 20:57

Yep indeedy!

Jacob's ladder, Jacob's Creek wine, Dickens' ghostly Jacob Marley in A Christmas Carol and, famous for his 'Leave means Leave' campaign, Jacob Rees-Mogg.

finallychangedmyusername · 13/12/2018 19:20

@DuggeeHugs, are you there?! Please come back! Xmas Wink

DuggeeHugs · 13/12/2018 19:55

I'm so sorry! Two poorly children have left me sleep deprived so apologies if this is just plain odd Xmas Confused

A bit prickly, this nature lover may have a home by a lake

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 13/12/2018 21:15

finallychangedmyusername · 16/12/2018 18:18

Philip?

DuggeeHugs · 16/12/2018 20:45

I see where you're coming from (I think - prickly Prince Philip?) but this is a girl's name

OP posts:
LadyGAgain · 16/12/2018 23:55

Hello! Sorry life took over. And possibly will again tomorrow but I do lurk Xmas Wink.
Victoria?
Beckham is known to be a bit prickly and Lake Victoria? The nature clue I can't think Xmas Smile

finallychangedmyusername · 17/12/2018 14:46

LadyGAgain · 21/12/2018 06:27

Ok, my sleep deprived brain thinks this works but let's see!!

his very literal Italian lady became American but then settled on a Greek island. She’s proud to be on the in-crowd with reindeer.

LadyGAgain · 21/12/2018 06:27

Let's try again.
