Okay, going to just say what I think about the names, and my tips on how to choose.
Saoirse - NOPE. It's suddenley become trendy because of the actress. There'll be a spate of Saoirse's, then it'll suddeneley dive in popularity and become very tacky and dated. Avoid these sort of craze names.
Niamh
Caoimhe - Just not a fan of Irish names, so I'll not comment, just not my style.
Eloise - Nice, but a bit weak. More a middle name.
Delilah - Too cutesy. More a pet name.
Juliet - Love this name, however people would sometimes misspell it as Juliette (personally my preferred spelling). This may not bother you, but it's something I bear in mind when picking out names.
Ava - Too popular, a bit boring and bland. Also, no nickname potential.
Audrey - Not sure. I think this will be a bit of a polarising name. Also many will associate with the Coronation St character. However it's a nice 'old-lady' name that's becoming relevant again.
Hannah - Beautiful, classic, timeless. A Hannah could be girly girl/fiesty girl/business woman....whatever.
Emily - Similar vein to above really - timeless, classic. A nice wholesome, all-rounder name.
Eleanor - Lots of nickname potential which is nice, and it's pretty classic too.
Eden - More a middle name. Just don't think it's a strong name in its own right, and no nickname potential.
Gabrielle -YES. Good name. I don't know why this is not more popular. It's familiar and classic, but not popular or heard of too much. I think it's fantastic. Probs my fave off your list.
Vivienne - LOVE Vivi. Vivienne is underused too. It is a little cutesy. Not sure I can imagine a Vivienne ever being a CEO or something.
Louisa - Nope. Bitch name. Sorry, but...ugh, no.
Susanna - Too dated. Makes me think of a middle-aged civil servant.
Lilian- Dated and boring, but a good middle name.
Francesca - Similar vein to Gabrielle - Totally underused, classic, elegant name that deserves to be more popular.
Evangeline - Too fancy, a bit pretentious.
Helena - Boring, bland.
Martha - Nice name. Makes me think of a fiesty, out-doorsy type.
Eva/Eve - Great middle names.
Clodagh
Margo - Like Martha - strong, fiesty, independent, but still feminine and cute,
Dorothy - This name seems to polarise people and I don't know why. I loved it, but everyone I spoke to seemed to think it was too old-ladyish, and Wizard of Oz.
Erin - Boring.
Robyn - Boring.
Irena - Dated.
Adeline - Middle name.
Edith - Lovely name, and Edi is a lovely nickname.
Eithne - People wouldn't know how to spell or say it.
Alice - Timeless, classic and a bit boring.
Alanis - Too try-hard.
Fionnuala - Too cutesy.
Elaine - Boring, dated.
Lainie - Too cutesy.
Orlaith - No
Ursula - A lot of people dislike this name. No sure if it's the little mermaid association, or just that it's a bit of an ugly name.
Elspeth -Don't like the 'peth' sound. This was my Husbands fave choice for a girl.
Isabel -Too popular.
Alayna - Looks made up.
Stephanie - Love that it means crown. It's a princessy, cute name. Some people would think it was dated. Personally I think it's useable.
Marielle - Too girly.
Lois - LOVE it, but maybe as a middle name.
Annaliese - Bitchy
Genevieve - LOVE this name. It was a top contender of mine. However I don't like the nickname Jen, and so It pt me off using it. However I think you can also get Ginny/Evie from it.
Marianne - Too dated.
Carly - OMG no, very dated.
Luciana -sounds like a made-up country.
Boys
Noah - Uber popular, but a nice name. No nickname potential though.
Jonah - Just makes me think of a badly behaved child.
Asher - A bit...meh.
Gabriel - LOVE it, but a little weak sounding. Gabe is a cool nickname for it though.
Frank - YES. Love old-man names like this. Also I love William with the nickname Bill.
Micah - Prefer the Finnish spelling of Miika for this name. Also some people would mispronounce this name.
Robert - Nice, a little dated, but classic and cute and works well of any aged person.
Isaac - A bit boring.
Finley - common.
Ryan - young offender.
Shane - Too dated. Can't imagine a baby Shane. It'd be like having a baby Keith or something.
Eric - Lovely name, but no nickname potential.
Elijah - Was so popular a few years back and now becoming dated.
Grant - Can't imagine it on a baby.
Robin - Boring, awesome middle name though.
Ezra - Too feminine.
Frederick - YES, and so many nicknames and stuff with this. Such a timeless, versatile name.
Zachary - ok
Alfred - Great alternative to Frederick.
Dexter - Okay name. A bit too hipster for me.
