We have a (long!) shortlist of 9 first names with middle names. But I’m confident we have a winner here! I’d like to get it down to 3 or 4.

So, tell me your top 3 please!

(Surname starts with H, 2 syllables)

Anna Florence
Ellen Victoria
Eleanor Mary
Verity Florence
Grace Eleanor
Lorna Florence
Juliet Elizabeth
Edith Anna
Maggie Ellen

Anna Florence
Ellen Victoria
Margaret Ellen (nn Maggie)

BB2018 · 11/05/2018 12:51

I love Margaret, but DH not keen, hence Maggie... (which I also like).

Anna and Juliet are the clear faves! And I’m pleased Lorna has got a fair few votes too as I think it’s a pretty and underused name.

Decisions decisions!

Personally I think that 2 syllables, 2 syllables, 2 syllables in a name sounds dull and stodgy. so that would rule out Anna Florence, Lorna Florence, Edith Anna and Maggie Ellen.

Which is a shame because I like the name Anna. Grace is incredibly, incredibly popular and now becoming rather common too.

I like Lorna Florence, but my favourite is Juliet Elizabeth.

As another note I grew up with two 'Verity's and both were lovely but still got nicknamed 'Verruca' Hmm

BB2018 · 11/05/2018 17:48

Poor things!

There was a Verity in my class at school and she never got that! Also like the Poldark character Verity...

I like Verity, Grace and Edith- very biased though as two of my DD's are Grace and Edith!

chezmk1988 · 11/05/2018 18:17

Juliet Elizabeth is my fave

MadameJosephine · 11/05/2018 19:21

Verity Florence
Lorna Elizabeth

Belindabauer · 11/05/2018 19:40

Ellen Victoria.

userabcname · 11/05/2018 19:44

Juliet Elizabeth is my favourite.

GRW · 11/05/2018 19:50

I like Anna, Ellen and Edith best.

brodiee · 11/05/2018 20:02

Definitely Lorna Florence. Love the name Lorna but can't use it as a family member has this name!

starkid · 11/05/2018 21:11

Anna Florence or
Juliet Elizabeth

Joeybee · 12/05/2018 03:33

Edith Anna - Edie for short- SO gorgeous.
Maggie Ellen - Love Maggie, but would have Margaret on the bc.
Juliet Elizabeth - Would spell it Juliette, which to me is less common and looks nicer.

BB2018 · 12/05/2018 07:18

Agree that Edie is a lovely nn for Edith!

Would definitely use classic Shakespearean spelling of Juliet though, I think it’s great like that.

I’m leaning towards Anna, Juliet, Lorna and Edith as my top four, but definitely still open to opinions...

BB2018 · 12/05/2018 07:21

Oh, and would you swap Edith’s mn to any of these:

Edith Anna/Juliet/Verity/Victoria...

soupforbrains · 12/05/2018 08:52

Juliet Elizabeth is still my favourite. It flows, had a lovely sound and rhythm and Juliet is such a pretty name.

I do think that Edith Victoria sounds nice too though.

Do those of you who know lots of Annas know lots of Graces? Because that was our original fave but got pushed down the list as it’s high in the popularity charts...

Our Anna was the only one at school, but she's 20 now lol, its had a spike since the whole 'Frozen' thing.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 12/05/2018 12:06

Lorna Florence
Anna Florence

Also like the following combinations.
Victoria Grace.
Elizabeth Mary.
Mary Elizabeth

Belindabauer · 12/05/2018 13:31

I think Grace is more popular than Anna.
I knows couple of Edith/Edies.

gwen25 · 12/05/2018 16:22
  1. Grace Eleanor
  2. Verity Florence
  3. Eleanor Mary

Juliet Elizabeth and Anna Florence are very nice too.
