.. the new royal baby that is. I have an Arthur and have watched it grow in popularity over the last few years. There will be bloody billions of Arthurs everywhere if the royals use it.. lighthearted sort of

Dale after Dale winton ! Lol

neurotransmittens · 23/04/2018 19:03

I like the name Arthur. Personally if the royals used a name I like then I would go the other way. George and Charlotte were both popular before William and Kate had a family. I like to think they were picked because the Daily Mail reported that they were a popular choice Grin

neurotransmittens · 23/04/2018 19:04

And I’m pleased they already have a George because well it’s St George’s Day and that’s the sort of thing William and Kate would do.

Welcome Baby Cambridge though!

TeaCoffeeCakeGinWine · 23/04/2018 19:19

excited Dale Cambridge has a great ring to it, flows beautifully

I don’t think they’d call it Arthur ... too Tudor.

DairyisClosed · 23/04/2018 19:27

We considered Arthur but decided it was a bit off for our children. Very glad we didn't use it now.

LemonysSnicket · 23/04/2018 19:27

I think they may pay homage to Harry with Henry

NapQueen · 23/04/2018 19:31

What about another traditional non royal name? Thomas, Benjamin, Dominic, Peter etc.

Akire · 23/04/2018 19:42

I don’t think think Henry surely you leave that in case he has a son? Different if he was older and wasn’t likely but not good to pinch all family names first.

OddBoots · 23/04/2018 19:58

It will be what it will be but there are so many names to choose from.

It might be something like John (the name William's maternal grandfather most commonly went by) or something to honour Catherine's side.

bbpp · 23/04/2018 22:15

Apparently the name "John" is sullied among royals. Both Charlotte and George were in the top 20 so i don't think it will be something too" out there".

ThorsMistress · 23/04/2018 22:21

DC2 due in September is going to be Arthur if a boy.

If the royal baby is named Arthur I know I’m going to get loads of comments about ‘copying’

RoundaboutSnail · 23/04/2018 22:24

Dale Arthur Lindo Cambridge

Aylarose · 23/04/2018 22:27

Arthur is a lovely name but I see your point OP.

My name was very uncommon when I was a child (I could never find anything personalised with my name on it in shops) but has now been in the top 10 for the last 15 years!

whatshappening1 · 23/04/2018 22:40

I really hope he is called Arthur or Albert, I would prefer James but they won't use it as it's Kate's brothers name

Buntysoven · 23/04/2018 22:54

I'm guessing Frederick. Mind you I haven't guessed one right yet. Maybe third time lucky!

Flyingchimps · 23/04/2018 23:31

So long as they leave Thomas alone, keep seeing it being touted as an outsider... it’s not royal, please don’t use it!

eloisesparkle · 24/04/2018 18:31

David ?
William will be the Prince of Wales in a few years time- sorry Elizabeth II and David is a Welsh name.
It probably won't be Gary after Kate's Uncle Gary.
Michael is one of my favourite male names or Rory.

LineyHasntLeftTheBuilding · 24/04/2018 18:32

Philip.

GreyGardens88 · 24/04/2018 18:34

It will be basic boring name like Edward or Henry
