.. the new royal baby that is. I have an Arthur and have watched it grow in popularity over the last few years. There will be bloody billions of Arthurs everywhere if the royals use it.. lighthearted sort of

I think William would be a nice name. Named after father and it's William Shakespeare's birthday too.

allthoseyears · 23/04/2018 13:39

Yes William, nice

HeyDolly · 23/04/2018 13:42

I reckon William will probably be used as a middle name

MrsJayy · 23/04/2018 13:47

Prince Williams middle name is Arthur so don't think they will use it. i think new prince will be Albert

abiirthdaycake · 23/04/2018 13:48

I really hope it isn't Arthur, we aren't even ttc yet but Arthur has been our #1 choice for family honoring purposes as well as just loving the name :( I feel very silly in a way feeling so possessive about a name which already isn't that uncommon but I still don't want it to explode in popularity any more than it already has

abiirthdaycake · 23/04/2018 13:49

Surely they wouldn't go for Albert though, they're young enough to know what a Prince Albert piercing is?

ILikeMyChickenFried · 23/04/2018 13:50

Cake, I felt that way when George was born as I thought they'd pick the name our son, born several months later, has. Fortunately they didn't. We didn't get so lucky woth Charlotte though.

nicknamenoname · 23/04/2018 13:57

There's already an Arthur in the family - Arthur Chatto - although I guess he's late teens so perhaps they won't mind using the name.

I'd love them to use something a bit more daring, say Alfred, Rupert or Sebastian.

FreeMantle · 23/04/2018 17:01

She's not really into old school though or trendy.

It'll be a Thomas.

TheCheekOf10Arses · 23/04/2018 17:09

I think he will be Henry. I know Prince Harry is actually called Henry but he’s not known as that so it sounds different enough to him but still quite Royal.

Tumbleted · 23/04/2018 17:11

How long did it take for them to announce George and Charlottes names?

I’m thinking Arthur.

Luckystar1 · 23/04/2018 17:13

I have an Arthur too and I also hope it’s not Arthur. Come on Kate, choose Albert Wink

frasier · 23/04/2018 17:16

tumbleted CBS news are saying (on their Twitter) they will announce name in two days but I don’t know where they’ve got that from.

HeyDolly · 23/04/2018 17:20

Argh - two days?! I don’t think I can wait that long Grin

rainbowstardrops · 23/04/2018 17:23

I'm kind of hoping they'll choose something a little less popular for the Royals and go for something a lbit different like Louie.
Let's face it, they're not going to go for Jayden, Kyle or Darren etc
Unfortunately

GreenStars · 23/04/2018 17:25

If you pick a name as unoriginal as Arthur you can hardly complain when others pick it too Hmm

Tumbleted · 23/04/2018 17:29

Bit harsh Green-it’s ranked 30th so it’s not like it’s a top 5 name.

Akire · 23/04/2018 17:33

They aid on radio that before they picked previous name They were both in top 3 name slots. So didn’t suddenly become popular after the event. That’s why Arthur has bookies going it is popular, apprently.

PeonyRose80 · 23/04/2018 18:00

I am guessing James William
George...

RoundaboutSnail · 23/04/2018 18:00

I think some of the other old royal names are due a comeback. Richard, Edmund, Rufus, Frederick, Magnus, John, David. We may have reached Peak Arthur already. Michael might be included as it's Kate's father's name as well as royal (Prince Michael of Kent), or James (both royal and Middleton).

joystir59 · 23/04/2018 18:02

Albert Philip

Shiftymake · 23/04/2018 18:10

Richard would be nice along with Edmund, Rufus as these are all names I would not use Grin

PinkAvocado · 23/04/2018 18:17

I think the royals using a name make people less likely to use it. I can’t imagine them choosing Arthur though.

TeaCoffeeCakeGinWine · 23/04/2018 18:28

Richard is a really good name, as is Frederick. I agree that Arthur is already v popular, but only because it’s a good name Grin

It's ok. He'll be Kai or Kane. I just know it
