Seraphine/Seraphina, Ophelia or Henrietta?

Three weeks to go, we are set on a boys name but no girl names as yet. I like long names, views on the above or suggestions of similar names?

Thank you!

Henrietta!
All are beautiful choices.

I really like Henrietta.
I know there was a long post a while ago on the name Ophelia and it didn't get a great response. I personally don't like it and think it sounds a bit pretentious Confused

I love Seraphine and Seraphina - DH eventually veto'd though. The meaning 'fiery angel' is perfect for a girl I think.

My only issue is how they would be shortened, they don't seem to have a 'natural' shortening.

All names are beautiful though. I also had Ophelia on the list.

Henrietta. It's beautiful and classical and rarely used.

Another vote for Henrietta

How about:
Jemima
Rosalie
Annabella
Arabella
Evangeline
Emmeline
Felicity
Clementine
Josephine
Matilda

All lovey names. I like Henrietta the least just because I dislike a Henry I know.
Ophelia is my favourite. I think its sounds lovely and wont get shortened. I like a tragic heroine, Isolde is currently top of our baby name list!
Seraphine most likely will just become Sarah.

TatianaLarina · 22/04/2018 09:31

Seraphine/a is very pretty.

Henrietta just becomes Henri which isn’t particularly nice.

RoundaboutSnail · 22/04/2018 10:00

Seraphina

Love Ophelia
DD has a bear called Seraphina

Parents have no say in their children's nn's. Have you thought about Severine?

My only issue with Ophelia is the tragic link with opiates and Rosetti (Elizabeth Siddal) but google Maddox Brown's Ophelia, it is truly stunning as a picture x

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 22/04/2018 10:23

Henrietta (Hetty).

TinoTheArtisticMouse · 22/04/2018 10:27

Henrietta nn Hennie

Cosmoa · 22/04/2018 10:46

Seraphina is my favorite. I also like Sapphira Smile

TatianaLarina · 22/04/2018 12:04

I like a tragic heroine,

Me too. Don’t understand people’s pearl clutching about a good tragedy.

RedDwarves · 22/04/2018 12:55

Seraphina is my favourite. I like Ophelia too.

Not a fan of Henrietta.

DramaAlpaca · 22/04/2018 15:07

I love Seraphina.

BringMeCoffeePlease · 22/04/2018 16:58

Henrietta is awful. It is the epitome of pretentious.

I like Ophelia and Serephina.

Sophronia · 22/04/2018 17:02

I like Henrietta

daisypond · 22/04/2018 18:03

Henrietta. Ophelia and Seraphina are just silly, pretentious names, in my opinion. The Henriettas I know are both shortened to Etta.

Frank83 · 22/04/2018 18:08

Thanks for your opinions everyone. My husband is not such a fan of Seraphina so I think it's more likely to be one of the others if we have a girl.

There all rather frilly and silly .

What about the name
" Dane "

TheFace · 24/04/2018 08:33

Ophelia is a beautiful name

pipilangstrumpf · 24/04/2018 09:18

I love them all! Favourite it Henrietta- beautiful, elegant and feminine.

stellinaa · 24/04/2018 10:06

Favourite would be Seraphina, but considering your husband isn't keen on that, what about Serena? Such a beautiful name that feels less frumpy than Seraphina, yet still very elegant, classic and underused. Or what about Alexandria? Angelina? Vivienne?
Not really keen on Ophelia or Henrietta as neither lend themselves very well to nicknames. Maybe thats just personal preference though.

AthenaAshton · 24/04/2018 10:10

I know a couple of Ophelias, and they are known as Fee and Fifi.
