Help! Ocean/Water names for girls!

Hi! I’m looking for a name that’s related with the ocean or water. I’ve been getting some recommendations, but I still can’t seem to find one that sounds really right to me.
I don’t want the name to be too out there that it’d be awkward to say the name out loud in a Starbucks shop (or for the worker not to have the faintest idea how to spell it). I also don’t want raised eyebrows whenever the name is introduced :(
Here are all of the names that were recommended! Some of them I don’t really like, and some of them are just ok to me. If you think any of these names sounds ok, please let me know!

Coral Cordelia Delphine Madeline Marina Marissa Meredith Nerissa Oceana Tallulah Thalassa

Apart from these, if you guys know any other ocean/water names that you think was really nice, please let me know! I really need the help. Thank you!

Cordelia is cool Smile

chocolatesun · 15/04/2018 09:28

But there are some pretty tacky suggestions on here. Just think about what the name would look like on a job application. You don't want to give your child a name that holds her back or causes embarrassment when she's older. Avoid aqua, etc...

overcurrent · 15/04/2018 09:29

Calypso

LoveInTokyo · 15/04/2018 10:59

Agree with chocolate. By all means choose an ocean themed name but make it a proper name that won’t put her at a disadvantage in her life/career.

I work in France in a male dominated industry and there is a very senior woman called Delphine here. I also knew a lovely (and very successful) Nerissa in the UK. (Wonderful Shakespearean name.)

Not water sprouts........ Hmm

immortalmarble · 15/04/2018 11:09

How would Meri be pronounced?

Cornishmumofone · 15/04/2018 11:40

Morvoren (mermaid), Morgelyn (sea holly) or Zennor.

ErrantBakedBean · 15/04/2018 14:41

I've always thought Meri like Merry but I suppose it does go against OP's wish for a name to be obvious re spelling/pronunciation!

RoundaboutSnail · 15/04/2018 17:05
