Which is everyone’s favourite? We have a 1 syllable surname and no idea on middle names yet so open to suggestions

Sylvie
Meredith
Theodora
Iris

Thanks :)

curious86 · 07/04/2018 22:04

I love iris, then Theodora but would worry people would call her Theo and that's more known as a boys name

Americantan · 07/04/2018 22:05

I know a very uptight Meredith and a Yugoslavian shepherd called Theodora. Iris is lovely

chezmk1988 · 07/04/2018 22:15

Love them all but iris is my favourite.

Discobabe98 · 07/04/2018 22:47

Sylvie Smile

and for middle names

Sylvie Quinn
Sylvie Helena
Sylvie Maya
Sylvie Fawn
Sylvie Orla
Sylvie Beatrix
Sylvie Hayden

BrutusMcDogface · 07/04/2018 22:51

Meredith is my favourite!

Iris sounds ugly to me, plus it's part of an eye.

Sylvie is pretty.

Not a fan of Theodora either....🤔

yikesanotherbooboo · 07/04/2018 22:55

Lovely names.
Iris feels a little passé now but I still love it., it is classy , and brings lovely images to mind of elegant stems and amazing writers.
Theadora is probably my least fovourite although I love Thea and Dora so I think it is just the look of the letters together rather than the name
I love Sylvia/ Sylvie it feels very current, a nature name, pretty , ethereal and I think has a Euro feel that I approve of
I love the nn Merry / Meri so have a huge soft spot for Meredith. I know these nns work for Merewenna but I also like the Welsh connection and it feels less tryhard. It's odd for me as I usually fight shy of surnames as first names.
Oh dear, no help with your choices from me!

Raines100 · 07/04/2018 23:00

I would pick Sylvie Rosalie or Sylvie Rosaline.

Second choice would be Meredith.
Meredith Rose
Meredith Kate
Meredith Joy/Jean/Jane
Meredith Felicity
Meredith Julia
Meredith Alice

Bojangles33 · 07/04/2018 23:01

I love Meredith and was considering it if we have a girl but I can't stand Merry as a NN :( I also really like Iris

marmitecrumpets · 07/04/2018 23:04

Iris or Sylvie

Kintan · 07/04/2018 23:08

Iris Pearl?

MollyHuaCha · 07/04/2018 23:10

Meredith Louisa
Meredith Sophie
Meredith Anne
Meredith Fiona

BunnyEars1 · 07/04/2018 23:29

Sylvie and Theodora

popcorneveryminute · 08/04/2018 07:29

Meredith is a beautiful name. I also think Sylvie would work well for a baby or a grown woman.

worstwitch18 · 08/04/2018 07:32

All lovely names. Do prefer Sylvia to Sylvie but Sylvie is still great, especially if you have a French connection.

As for middle names I think Anne goes very well with most of the names but you might find it too "old timey" in combination.

I would probably stick a family name in there, e.g. one of her grandmother's names.

leghoul · 08/04/2018 07:35

All very nice names. My favourite is Meredith then Theodora then Sylvie then Iris. I like how versatile Meredith and Theodora are for all ages.
