I'm afraid it's a negative marmite name for me

Chocolatecake12 · 06/04/2018 19:00

My cat is called Oakley
That is all

BiscayTrafalgarFitzroy · 06/04/2018 19:00

Sunglasses

Daisy17 · 06/04/2018 19:01

Everything's Rosie! Everything's Ro-oh-oh-sie.......

OakIsBetterTho · 06/04/2018 19:02

Sunglasses... but even without that association, it's a name which sounds like a brand.

Despite myself tho, I certainly don't hate the name

Paddingtonthebear · 06/04/2018 19:03

I know two. It’s not unusual. Also very popular name for dogs. Along with diesel, for some inexplicable reason.

Anyway I don’t like it. It’s too surname-y for me, same with Clark, Baxter, Tyler, Mason etc.

lifechangesforever · 06/04/2018 19:12

I have a friend of a friend who's daughter is Oakley.. can't say I've ever been keen on it but it's not offensive or ridiculous so each to their own. Think I actually prefer it for a boy.

hawkmcqueen · 06/04/2018 19:15

It sounds clunky to me sorry 😐

Sophronia · 06/04/2018 19:41

I know someone who has an Oakley-Beau. I’m not keen on the same tbh.

Tom Hiddleston's character's name in 'Unrelated', playing a hot but arrogant teenage toff. I love him but still wouldn't pick the name.

thatsmyjoomper · 06/04/2018 20:19

Love love love love love this name!!!! DP vetoed it for DS 😭😭😭😭

Mrsknackered · 06/04/2018 21:03

I like it! I know one who is late teens and all his siblings have tree related names, and a newborn.

seafoodeatit · 06/04/2018 21:16

Makes me think of the tree too! It's a sweet name though.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 06/04/2018 21:39

💙 Oakley.

anon99827 · 06/04/2018 22:01

I love it. It's different and unique. Doesn't matter what everyone else thinks anyway! Congratulations x

Nothisispatrick · 06/04/2018 22:04

I live near an Oakley Court Hotel

DottyBlue2 · 06/04/2018 22:14

You were working as a waitress in a cocktail bar when I met you.

Don’t you want me baby?
Don’t you want me ohh oh oh oh?

pilates · 06/04/2018 22:27

Not my cup of tea

Joeybee · 06/04/2018 22:33

Oakley sounds cute on a baby, but can't imagine that name on a teenager or adult. It's too cutesy.

happychange · 06/04/2018 22:39

Sunnnies!

ForgetMeNotCat · 06/04/2018 22:48

I'm not normally a surname as first name fan, but Oakley I quite like

DramaAlpaca · 06/04/2018 22:51

It's a surname to me & I'm not generally mad on surnames as first names.

That said, there are many worse names around. I wouldn't use it myself but I don't mind it.

starkid · 06/04/2018 22:54

I like it! :)

ThinkingQueSeraSera · 06/04/2018 22:55
