Russell?

DarkRoomDarren · 03/04/2018 20:30

Yes! Well done. Super speedy answer.

DarkRoomDarren · 03/04/2018 20:35

Probably really obvious, but a swish is a bit like a rustle, Russell Group universities, Russell Square and sheep rustling were the clues!

FintyTin · 03/04/2018 20:53

Great clues! I only got it so quickly because I was watching A Close Shave (with DC, of course Wink) this afternoon!

I will have a think...

FintyTin · 03/04/2018 21:15

Right-o:

This gent shares his name with at least two poets, one of whom was from somewhere you wouldn’t expect.
He can be quite explosive, so don’t leave him in charge of your baking!

LadyGAgain · 03/04/2018 21:19

Thom/as?

applesandpears56 · 03/04/2018 21:21

Gordon

Bexter801 · 03/04/2018 21:30

Bernard?

finallychangedmyusername · 03/04/2018 21:47

Charles?

finallychangedmyusername · 03/04/2018 21:53

Or Paul?

FintyTin · 03/04/2018 22:50

No, sorry - no-one has it yet.

LadyGAgain · 03/04/2018 22:54

Robert (burns and graves)?

Bexter801 · 03/04/2018 22:59

Oh good one @LadyGAgain I think that must be right

applesandpears56 · 04/04/2018 02:21

William

DuggeeHugs · 04/04/2018 07:01

Dylan?

OP posts:
FintyTin · 04/04/2018 07:53

No, not yet, sorry. The second and third clues definitely refer to the same given name as the first clue; but I can see how they could fit with Burns, @LadyGAgain. Smile

DuggeeHugs · 04/04/2018 08:20

Seamus?

OP posts:
diddl · 04/04/2018 12:10

Alfred?

Bexter801 · 04/04/2018 12:14

Marshall?

spugzbunny · 04/04/2018 12:21

Ted?

FintyTin · 04/04/2018 13:30

Well done, diddl, yes it's Alfred.

The poets are Tennyson and Housman (who was from Worcestershire, not Shropshire). Alfred Nobel invented dynamite (explosive), and King Alfred reputedly burned the cakes.

Over to you Smile

diddl · 04/04/2018 13:54

Ah, couldn't get the explosive clue.

Tennyson & the burnt cakes were what I thought of.

So, got sucked in again & now will have to have a little think!

diddl · 04/04/2018 14:09

Ok, another easy one methinks!

She's a bit of a right one.

You have to take notice.

Almost one of Julian's ladies.

LadyGAgain · 04/04/2018 14:21

Pamela?

diddl · 04/04/2018 14:25

Nope!
