Picking a girl's name with a P

M1980 · 19/03/2018 16:51

We are expecting a baby girl in June (our second daughter). It is super important to us that our families (Italian and Indian) be able to easily pronounce our kid's names, as both of us have had our names butchered our whole life.

We named our first born Ohana, which worked very well for across both cultures and for English speakers. We want our second child's name to start with a P. But after nearly 7 months of searching we still have not found a name we love.

Here is our current short list of contenders:
Paloma
Palila
Pia
Priana
Pelia
Parisa

Thoughts? Any amazing names we have missed?

Pretty sure Pippa sounds like a rude word in Italian. So not that.

I think Palila, Pia, Priana, and Pelia sound a bit like cars

How about Penny

MinaPaws · 19/03/2018 20:27

I like Priya/Pria - easy for Italians and a classic Indian name, so from your list my favourite is Priana but Paloma is pretty too and v popular here.

IhaveChillyToes · 19/03/2018 20:28

Which country will the children go to school and have friends?

Which community do you generally live within? Indian or Italian or British English speakers iyswim?

midsomermurderess · 19/03/2018 20:29

I love Penelope. I also really like Pernilla. Because it’s a Swedish name I don’t know how it’s viewed there though. It might be regarded like Mavis or something here.

Cuppaand2biscuits · 19/03/2018 20:30

Pollyanna, Petra or Priya get my vote.
