Guessing Game

Thought this would make a fun thread and maybe also provide names for people that are choosing that they wouldn't have thought of otherwise.

Think of a name (your child's or any name really) and provide 3 clues.

Other posters have to guess the name and once someone gets it right, it's their turn!

I'll start:

2 syllables

Very definitely a boys name but there is a feminine version

2 very common abbreviations/nicknames

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

DramaAlpaca · 22/03/2018 22:12

Brian?

FintyTin · 22/03/2018 22:27

Apologies for disappearing for so long.

I’ll rephrase clue 2 to “...going a single way.”

Clue 3 is a geographical reference (but not linked to Ireland).

Bexter801 · 22/03/2018 22:41

Or Dean?

FintyTin · 23/03/2018 07:24

Joinourclub has it!

At least two mediaeval high kings of Ireland were named Niall.
Niall Horan is a member of One Direction (‘single way”).
The River Nile (“sounds like” Niall) has two branches - the White Nile and the Blue Nile. I know Nile and Niall aren’t pronounced precisely the same, but it’s close enough for a clue, surely? Grin

Over to you, Joinourclub...Smile

Joinourclub · 23/03/2018 12:34

Ashamed to say the only reason I guessed that was because of one direction!

Ok: this straight laced woman is sweet smelling and is ready to spring into action.

FintyTin · 23/03/2018 20:54

Ok, a nice easy one for a Friday night:

Usually a surname, but can be a first name.
'L' is a clue, but not initially.
He might sing along with one of our game's players.
