Don’t like ANY boys names!

I have searched for what feels like forever. I have not found even one name that I can imagine for my son and it’s really starting to get me down. The only name I remotely like is Arthur but it doesn’t feel like the one and I’m pretty sure the Royals are going to use it. I like traditional names that aren’t too popular (another issue with Arthur) any ideas ladies :(

Already suggested by others but the ones I think of as similar to Arthur are
Stanley
Frederick (Fred/Freddie)
Albert (Albie/Bertie)

Arthur is lovely and I also think John which you mentioned as a family name is a fantastic solid name which is v underused.

Some fantastic ideas ladies!! Lots I actually liked in my first pregnancy actually (have a DD with a vintage name) that my husband vetoed but I had forgotten about. Although I’ve narrowed it down to these to ask him about-it doesn’t help that he is incredibly fussy too!!!
Harold
Alfred
Albert
Wilfred

I really like Harold and it has a lot of sentimental value but don’t like how popular Harry is and feel it is an unavoidable diminutive.

I LOVE Wilfred-can’t believe I hadn’t thought of it before-but have a sneaky suspicion it will be vetoed😔😔

I struggle greatly with boys' names, too. I currently have Nathan/Nathaniel and Jude although I'm pretty sure dp will veto both!!

Lulue45 · 23/02/2018 18:07

Husband has said he will ‘consider’ Wilfred! Massive progress as the only other name he has considered in two pregnancies has been Arthur (closest we got with DD was Jasper and he decided against it at 11 weeks) so I’m keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks again ladies-your lists have been amazing

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 23/02/2018 18:18

How about Wilbur, I love it, a mixture of Wilfred and Arthur.
Louis
Adam
Jonas

Anyone suggested Balonz yet? Wink

To me it sounds like you quite like 'grandparent names' ie those popular in the 1920s and 1930s.

Suggestions:
Ernest (Ernie)
Walter
Herbert (Herbie)
Stanley
Kenneth (Kenny)
Edwin
Arnold (Arnie)
