Don’t like ANY boys names!

I have searched for what feels like forever. I have not found even one name that I can imagine for my son and it’s really starting to get me down. The only name I remotely like is Arthur but it doesn’t feel like the one and I’m pretty sure the Royals are going to use it. I like traditional names that aren’t too popular (another issue with Arthur) any ideas ladies :(

I love all your girl list and it's similar to our list. Our boy list was Ewan, Milo, Laurie, Nathaniel, Hugo, Rowan and Felix. We went with Ewan and we love it. Good luck .

OP, love Nora if we were having a girl - we'd deffo go for it!!!

Same position as you! These are the names I want but not allowed so I will give them to you!!

Robert (nn. Bobby/Rob/Robbie/Bob) great name as baby Bobby right though so Grandad Bob.

Rupert. (nn. Rue) I liked the name Ruben but prefer more traditional names.

I don't think they would call their DS Arthur. I guessed right for both George and Charlotte weirdly (wish Id put bets on!) but don't think Arthur is the same feel/fit.
Even if they did- its no reason at all not to sue it- its hardly as if you hang around in royal circles is it?! (I'm assuming).

If you like Ezra, what about Elias or Eli?

I know how you feel, we really struggled with a boys name, we had a list and chose one when he was born. He ended up being Rory Smile

Also I really love Arthur! I thought they would call George Arthur but I don't know if they will now.

Also like Leonard & could be Leo or Lennie for short.

anonymouser · 23/02/2018 14:14

Don't know if it's traditional, but we had the same problem, and then found the name Bastian. Absolutely love the name, and rarely meet others with the same name.

Ezra is trendy and is likely to be very popular for a year or two before being seen as 'downmarket'.
If you like Simon and John, I would look at names popular in the 1940s and 50s.
Michael, Patrick, Alan/Allen, Stephen etc are all much nicer than the cutesy/rascal sort of names that are currently popular.

theredjellybean · 23/02/2018 15:28

If dds had been boys they were going to be

Bartholomew - to be known as Tolley, apparently old English name and derivative.

We also liked Ptolomy...

Rumpledfaceskin · 23/02/2018 15:32

You have nearly exactly the same names on my girls list! Weird. And I too can’t think of any boys names I like other than Arthur, Edward, James and Harry (too common) and Edward is my brothers name and my dh vetoed it (I don’t actually know what I’m having yet though). Good luck with your search.

I like lots of boys' names and no girls' names. I like

William
Eben
Osian
Louis
Thomas
Jeffrey

blinkineckmum · 23/02/2018 15:50

Waxon that's a great post. Can we find out the girls?

londonloves · 23/02/2018 15:52

We liked sons of tour girls names.
Out boys shortlist was
Gabriel
Angus
Frederick
William

I was convinced he was a girl, so didn't worry too much. He wasn't a girl! By the time he was born we only liked Angus. It means "one choice".

Also on long list but too "whack" for us - Oberon, Heathcliff.
