Thoughts on this name?

It's more traditional and popular than I would naturally go for but dh loves it and its growing on me. Not a fan of nn Teddy which sees very popular around here but dont mind Eddie or Ted.

Anyone have one?

I like it but I prefer Edmund.

DramaAlpaca · 26/01/2018 19:45

I love it, I like classic names. My friend has one who's known as Eddie, it's a great name which suits all ages.

deptfordgirl · 26/01/2018 19:47

I'm not keen on Edmund. Thanks for the feedback.

Love it.

leccybill · 26/01/2018 19:49

Just love it. All Eds I know from age 5 upto 45 are smashing fellas.

I have one and love his name! Love all potential shortenings too (at the moment we call him Ted). I think it's a lovely name which suits a baby and small child but is also sensible for adulthood and has the bonus of several shorter versions if he's not keen on the full name.

RaindropsAndSparkles · 26/01/2018 19:51

I think it's fab. Mine's 23. Never met one who isn't lovely.

horseknickers · 26/01/2018 19:55

I have a 20 mo Edward. Love love love the name, no regrets at all!! Don't really like Ted or Teddy, he mainly gets called Eddie.

MollyHuaCha · 26/01/2018 19:57

Great name

namastayinbed · 26/01/2018 20:01

Best name ever Wink

daisypond · 26/01/2018 20:06

Really nice.

Lavenderdays · 26/01/2018 20:32

I really like this name. It was second on my list of boys names (DH wasn't keen) and as it happened I have had girls so never got to use it.

pinkginanyone · 26/01/2018 20:36

I love it! It’s a great name with great NNs if necessary.

pilates · 26/01/2018 20:40

Great name

Annabelle4 · 26/01/2018 20:40

I absolutely love it.

MiniMaxi · 26/01/2018 20:41

Lovely!

RedRosie · 26/01/2018 20:45

I like it. My adult step-son is an Edward and he's ace. Usually Edward rather than Ed, although we all use both.

RedRosie · 26/01/2018 20:46

Actually, his (very nice) mum uses Ted. Which is nice.

PinkAvocado · 26/01/2018 20:46

Love it. It goes terribly with our surname otherwise it’d be a contender!

MrsHathaway · 26/01/2018 20:54

I have one. He's either Edward in full or a completely unrelated nickname. The other Edward in his class is Ted. There are a lot of them round here but there's enough variation Ed/Ned/Ted/other that it doesn't feel super popular.

deptfordgirl · 27/01/2018 10:10

Thanks guys. It is a really nice name. My hesitation is because my son's name is quite unusual (definitely a real name, just outside top 100) so I don't want them to clash.

I like it

MikeUniformMike · 27/01/2018 14:16

Edgar? Shortened to Egg or Ed.

MikeUniformMike · 27/01/2018 14:17

I don't think you can go wrong with Edward. Not keen on Teddy but Ed, Eddie and Eddy are all fine. Ned is just wrong.

FizzyGreenWater · 27/01/2018 14:32

It's ok.

Think if you have one unusual name, they're going to look v different - Ed is absolute plain brown loaf.

Depends really which one will eventually think he got the short straw!!
