Baby girl names - strong but feminine

DH and I can't agree on name for our DD due in two weeks. Can anyone suggest any girls names of a similar vibe to the following:

Hermione
Verity
Esme
Rose

I'm looking for something strong but feminine I think.

Thank you!

Out of your list I like Verity best, I don't think Esme is a particularly 'strong' name because of the 'e' at the end of the name. It is a pretty name though. If you want a strong name I'd avoid anything ending in 'ie', 'y', or 'a'.

I really like the following proper grown up names:
Eleanor
Frances
Caroline (I like the nn Caro)
Also very classic names like:
Elizabeth
Catherine
Margaret

Penelope
Ellen
Georgina
Saffron
Ada
Greta

I think Rose is the best out of your list. I have an irrational dislike of Verity, I know an (adult) brat called Esme which puts me off and I don't like how many people pronounce Hermione, it's too 'her-miney' if that makes sense but it's a nice name, even if a bit too HP still.

Esme doesn't sound strong to me, but I really like your other names.

I immediately thought Hermione! That would be top of my list if I ever had a DD.

Elmo303 · 09/01/2018 13:17

OP I’m also due my DD in two weeks and have been looking for strong but feminine names. Hermione and Rose have been strong contenders for us too so we have similar taste. Others we’ve considered are Penelope and Alexandra. Although I’m not keen on the typical nicknames Penny and Alex. We also like Robyn and Cleo.
Still not settled on one in particular but hoping it will become obvious once she’s born! Smile

Elmo303 · 09/01/2018 13:19

Just to add my concern with Rose is that she will become Rosie which is really not the same name and for me doesn’t have the same strength as Rose

CrumpettyTree · 09/01/2018 13:21

I like Rose from your list

CrumpettyTree · 09/01/2018 13:22

And i like really like the following proper grown up names:
Frances
Caroline (I like the nn Caro)
Catherine
From Count's list

CrumpettyTree · 09/01/2018 13:22

That went wrong. It was supposed to say "I like the following from Count's list"

Isn’t “strong but feminine” a bit of an insult?!
