I'm still TTC at the moment but already have a shortlist of girls names I really like and I'd love your honest opinions on each.

After writing a long list on my phone it was obvious that I have a penchant for girl names beginning with "E", and only E names will do it would seem :)

So here is my shortlist....some I like more than others and I have a favourite (I think) but would love to hear everyones opinions.....

Elena (pronounced e-LEN-ah)
Elle
Ella
Emma
Emmy

If it matters we have a two syllable (quite boring) surname and we will be choosing two middle names (family tradition).

PasstheStarmix I like names that are not overused. My personal taste veers towards classic and beautiful names, and also more quirky 'modern' names.

It seems that the OP likes quite traditional names.
Other names you might like OP are Emmeline and Eliza.

What about Elvie?

DeadButDelicious · 07/01/2018 23:24

Emma. All the best people are called Emma. Wink

Thank you again to everyone who took the time to comment; I think we have a shortlist of just two names from the list......Elena and Emma :) xx

Emma is my all time favourite girls name. Solid, timeless, classic and beautiful. I also love Em as a nn Only concern is that it is popular and has been for generations but I wouldn't let that put you off,

PaddlingShoes · 01/02/2018 23:34

Emmy :-)

SheGotBetteDavisEyes · 01/02/2018 23:34

Emma is best by far, it's a nice name.

eightoutoftencats · 01/02/2018 23:36

Elena is lovely, suits both a child and an adult and can be shortened to Ellie which I also like.

Amonk3ysButler · 13/02/2018 21:30

Hi
I love all those names, I had a particular fondness for the letter 'E' as well and my 6 yr old is called Evelyn (Ever-lyn) Elizabeth. Smile

Emma

Elena (pronounced e-LEN-ah) - nice but people will say Ell-in-a
Elle - doesn't seem to be a name, just her/she in French, dodgy with some surnames
Ella - nice but seems a bit like it's short for something
Emma - classic
Emmy - short form of another name. A bit twee,

fearfultrill · 14/02/2018 16:18

I like Emma best from your list - seems the most like a full name iyswim. Emmy could be a cute nickname for Emilia or Emily?

I also like Elena but I think you'd have some pronunciation problems.
