Lovely. And it travels well.
Would be on our boy's list if it wasn't the name of an ex...

peppapigwouldmakelovelyrashers · 04/01/2018 19:29

Love it. Can be Jude as a nn! (Hey Jude!)

Mightybanhammer · 04/01/2018 19:31

Like it Smile

Mightybanhammer · 04/01/2018 19:32

But not Jude.
Jude the Obscure anyone?

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 04/01/2018 19:35

Think it's quite old fashioned. Julius more modern. Know quite a few 50ish year olds, mostly called Jules.

MikeUniformMike · 04/01/2018 19:47

Makes me think of Assange. Jules makes me think of Jools Holland.
Jude makes me think of obscure or Judas.
I really dislike it.

FizzyGreenWater · 04/01/2018 20:01

Like it.

Julian Cope.

ChocolateCrunch · 04/01/2018 20:47

Sorry, never liked it.

pipilangstrumpf · 04/01/2018 23:28

Love it. Strong, classic and not overused

flutteronbynow · 04/01/2018 23:34

Not keen, sorry. I think of Julian Clary.

Buntysoven · 04/01/2018 23:36

Biased because of a ghastly one at school. Sorry OP

FlopIsMyParentingGuru · 04/01/2018 23:47

Makes me think of king Julian but then poorly DC have been watching back to back Madagascar films today

Yika · 04/01/2018 23:59

Yes lovely.

Fineganbeginagain · 05/01/2018 00:11

Nope sorry. Feels weak and like someone from 1993

DramaAlpaca · 05/01/2018 01:14

It's a bit posh and wet (sorry), in the same style as Tristan, Rupert & Sebastian. I don't hate them, but I don't like them either, they just aren't my style.

Happpydays · 05/01/2018 03:26

I really like it

Gosh, I could have written this.

(Although I’d go so far as to say I kind of hate them.)

HuskyMcClusky · 05/01/2018 03:39

Meant to add: it sounds ‘wannabe posh’ to me. Not actually posh. If that makes any sense.

Abetes · 05/01/2018 03:47

I think it sounds very drippy. Sorry!

InionEile · 05/01/2018 05:06

Brings to mind Julian from the Famous Five for me - solidly English middle class, sensible, partial to Fair Isle v-neck pullovers and thoroughly pleasant. Not quite the leader that Dick was though...Grin

SomfyCofa · 05/01/2018 07:38

Thank you. It's a family name, but I'm thinking it might be more of a middle name. I've always thought it was a bit weak sounding, although the 2 men I know called Julian are both amazing and not at all weak.

OP posts:
Sugarpiehoneyeye · 05/01/2018 11:40

I would use it as a middle name.

EvaTheOptimist · 05/01/2018 11:44

I have a friend with this name and he doesn't like it - was teased at school for having a "girl's name" (Julie-Ann).

So I'd say No (or a middle name)

TheDailyMailIsADisgustingRag · 05/01/2018 18:22

I prefer Jolyon. I think it’s the jules sound I’m not keen on.

PemberleyP · 05/01/2018 18:38

I really like it. It’s popular overseas too, very international without being super short, simple and indistinctive (?) as names that travel well often are.
