My sisters surname is Lee. She is expecting a daughter in April but struggling with names as lots she likes don't go with Lee eg

Willow Lee - Willowy
Constance Lee - Constantly
Lily /Emily Lee - repeat of lee sound
Olivia/Amelia - already have "li" in them

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thats our surname too its a hard one. How about names like
Amy
Evelyn
Florence

Tinselistacky · 09/12/2017 09:27

Stick a good middle name in there, when asked the name give full title, only first name will be used daily anyway.
Willow Jayne Lee
Olivia Frances Lee
Skip Lily and Emily though!!

MrsMotherHen · 09/12/2017 09:28

Pressed to soon
Esmay is cute too.

CheapSausagesAndSpam · 09/12/2017 09:28

Primrose Lee

Lilly Lee

Charlotte Lee

Sophie Lee

Megan Lee

Esme...not Esmay!

PanannyPanoo · 09/12/2017 09:29

I think Olivia Lee is lovely. Don't see a problem with Constance or Willow either.
What about Betsy, Jemima, Anna, Esme, Charlotte, Melissa or Emma- (Then she gets Emily as a bonus - Emma Lee!
Lucy Lee has a nice ring too.

treaclesoda · 09/12/2017 09:31

I know what you mean because I have a surname where loads of names sound like they run seamlessly into the surname, if that makes sense.

I think what she needs is a name that ends in a very definite consonant sound. The problem is that there don't seem to be very many of them!

Scarlett/Charlotte that sort of sound.

SammyL100 · 09/12/2017 09:42

I've made 2 sugestions Roseanna and Jasmin. Not sure how keen my sister is on them though.

Sara Lee? Now I want a chocolate cake!

MrsMotherHen · 09/12/2017 11:48

Alice is lovely!

AJPTaylor · 09/12/2017 11:56

I think any name ending with A / ah sound would be fine
Or a d, something like Rosalind?

Pemba · 09/12/2017 13:01

Anna or Hannah works well.

Pemba · 09/12/2017 13:02

Marianne or Miriam too.

LadyWithLapdog · 09/12/2017 13:05

Avoid Anna.

AuntieStella · 09/12/2017 13:05

I think it sounds best with a polysyllabic name which has a number of possible short forms:

Katherine
Patricia
Marguerite
Genevieve

MikeUniformMike · 09/12/2017 14:23

Kay
Sara
Mary
Dairy, no scrap that.
Lila
Lily
Layla
Leela
Sally
Jenny, with Wyn as a middle name

MikeUniformMike · 09/12/2017 14:24

Belle

MikeUniformMike · 09/12/2017 14:28

Rosie

Debby08 · 09/12/2017 14:36

Go for "Stewart" Lee. :)

MikeUniformMike · 09/12/2017 14:52

It's a nice surname, and lots of names will be ok with it. My suggestions were ones to avoid.
Heaven would be to much.

Emma Lee is nice.

AmysTiara · 09/12/2017 14:57

Emma Lee sound like Emily so I'd avoid.

Naomi, Imogen, Stephanie, Nicole, Claudia, Yasmine, Jessica, Maisy all sound okay.
