Victorian Romany names!

Just came across this blog and the names are amazing!! Especially like Anselo, Starlina, Greenleaf, Marbeleni, Northalion.

Also like the Victorian gothic names - Arphaxad, Clarimond, Vesperina.

Any stand out for you?

Not sure Bobum would pass the MN High Court Judge test! Fluenzi and Froniga might work for twins?

I LOVE Greenleaf. A lot of them seem to have a kind of Tolkien/Gaiman otherwordly kind of vibe.

Ha, no, not Mycroft! I don’t think it’s quite as niche as that, but maybe I am deluded- we certainly weren’t going for Victorian Gothic

It's weird as I always thought Mycroft was a made up name. Sherlock too. But the pre-raphealites were a bit before Sherlock Holmes?

Ooh they are great. I know an older gypsy called Shadrach, and he’s from Worcestershire - I wonder if he’s related?

(And I know a few names on the Gothic list too, maybe they are coming back in?)

Fluenzi and Froniga

Fluenzi sounds a little infectious to me - and Froniga is too close to Frogmella, but some of the others are rather lovely.

Most of these names would be wonderful for cats . . .

Endelyn is lovely.

Can honestly say that this is the first baby name thread I've seen where 'Balonz' looks perfectly in step with the times

They do have a lovely quasi-fantasy feel to them don't they!

I also like Studivares (Stud for short) and Stari.
